SOURCE: Monitor displays breifly then goes to blank screen
The green power light indicates that the monitor is receiving from the
computer correctly. I suspect it is going into high voltage
shutdown. There is a safety circuit that monitors the high
voltage and shuts the monitor down if it sees anything amiss. So
the monitor comes on and then shuts off. High voltage problems
are generally not worth trying to repair. Another example of a
worthless safety feature. High voltage failures are not
dangerous, and adding the safety circuit just kills the unit when it
may have some life left or worse, sometimes it is the shutdown circuit
itself which fails!
Hope this helps.
SOURCE: NEC 19'' LCD monitor power on but screen blank
If you can try it on another unit , If it still does not work, Then the most likely culprit is a bad power supply. If you know any thing about soldering replace the capacitors they are probably bad but being that these things are being built so cheap. It could also have a bad inverter. not repairable by average dude.If you open it be careful and do not attempt unless you feel comfortable with a solder Iron.Hope this can help you Good Luck. www.IrionsTVshop.com board re builders.
SOURCE: screen goes blank
I put a new CR2025 battery in my T5e671 Timex and it solved the problem.
The screen no longer goes blank at any time.
PS:Timex manual says "remove battery strap" to replace the battery.
But it doesn't say HOW.-& I couldn't google an answer to that.
Here is how:
The metal strap goes across the middle of the battery and then goes over the edge of it on both sides.
At both edges the metal strap goes over a nylon tab.
One of those nylon tabs is notched, if you put the end of a paperclip in the notch, you can release the metal strap edge that runs under it.

Had the same problem, turned out it was due to a faulty capacitor on the inverter board, 680uF 25V (105 celsius rated). Simple to fix once you have the unit dismantled and the correct replacement part. Two screws hold the shroud on, but you need to be careful with an (old) credit card levering it off.
Unit is now working fine.
