SOURCE: can't connect wireless stereo to sylvania 6620LF4

Hi, Ok, I now understand what the problem is. Sorry I missed the fact that it is due to no audio outputs on the TV. The audio board is designed to power low impedance speakers and doesn't have a big power amp to drive them. I do not have a schematic of that particular TV so I do not know how the headphone jack is wired. The way it basically works is, when you insert the plug, the tip pushes a contact away from another contact thus making one circuit and breaking another. You can test this externally by inserting an unwired plug or look at it from the inside and bridge the tip connection. I would only advise this if you have some technical skills. Other than that the thing is working like it was designed, they don't want you to use both. Sorry, I hate to give this type of news, but I am one of the only ones who will. Good Luck to you!

SOURCE: ever since plugging in hdmi cable to lgtv can't

there's no way around that. if you use hdmi for sound, it shuts off the digital to analog converter on your sound board. so the headphone jack won't work while the tv is pluged in.

The RCA jacks (Red and White) usually have full-level output and are not affected by the volume control. (Without those you can buy an adaptor for a 1/8" stereo jack to RCA females and plug the RCA males there--that may be volume controlled or not or both.) The RCAs are meant for an audio system that would control the volume but should work fine with a headset that has its own control. -Ken

The power suply unit may be dead......if the fuse blows instantly it means that the main input is short.
possible parts damaged :the diodes from the mains, the power tranzistor and the ic from the primary part and other components around them.
First unplug the tv, unload the mains capacitor (using a light bulb) check all the diodes from the rectifing bridge, check for any shortened semiconductors or blow resistors.

BE VERRY CAREFUL !!! THERE IS A RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK ,IF U DON"T KONW ANY ELECTRONICS TAKE IT TO A SPECIALIST

How do you listen to TV with Sylvania headphones? It has a Scan and Reset and a Hr Off switch?

To answer a question like this we would need FULL 'make and model' of the Sylvania headphones and full 'make and model' of the television. The reason being that we need to check how they are supposed to connect to each other. In the old days, it was a 1/4" wired plug in a socket, but now connection is via Bluetooth direct, or Bluetooth transmitters connected to the television.

Sylvania wireless headphones

Instructions
1
Set up the transmitter. Wireless headphones rely on a transmitter that sends audio via infrared or radio waves to your headset. Use the digital audio output (coaxial or optical), RCA outputs (red and white) or headphone jack on your TV to connect the transmitter. The connection will depend upon which outputs are available on your TV and/or the transmitter.
2
Use an RCA-to-headphone adapter. If you don't have a headphone jack on your TV and the transmitter includes only a headphone connection, connect an RCA-to-female headphone connector. This will allow you to plug the wireless transmitter into the female headphone end and then hook the RCA ends into your television's audio outputs. You may also need a 3.5 mm (mini jack)-to-1/4-inch adapter if the headphone plug on the transmitter doesn't match the television jack.

3
Set the transmitter on top of, or next to, the television. For infrared transmitters, you'll need a direct path between the headphones and the transmitter. Placing the transmitter on or near the TV will allow you to take advantage of the clear path you already have.
4
Plug in the transmitter and turn it on. Charge the headphones if necessary.
5
Turn on the headphones. Adjust the volume and settings and you're ready to watch TV.

How can I get headphones to work with my Symphonic WF203 TV?

This set doesn't have a headphone jack, nor does it have RCA audio output jacks. Without one or the other, you're out of luck connecting headphones to this TV.

I remember a product some years ago that allowed adding headphones using a small microphone placed in front of the speaker. This was hooked to a little amplifier that ran the headphones so the volume could be independently controlled. It was marketed as a way to let "hearing-impaired" family members listen to TV shows without needing to make it uncomfortably loud for others. I haven't looked, but something similar might still be available. It's cumbersome, though, and needs power, plus maybe being costly if you find one.

It's possible to add a headphone jack, but you need to know how to do electronic soldering. Find a spot on the case where you can make a hole and mount a headphone jack, then wire it to the speakers. If you want the headphones to cut off the speakers when plugged in, you need a switching jack, and the speaker wires need to be cut and connected to the correct terminals. The switch built into the jack then disconnects the speakers when the headphone plug is in. If you don't need to turn off the speakers it's a little easier. You just need to wire from the jack to the speaker terminals. I've added jacks on quite a few sets. If you don't feel up to it and don't know anyone who is, you can see if a TV shop (if there are any left in your area!) would do it. (The shop I used to work for charged about $20, including the jack, but that was over 10 years ago now.)

Good luck, and thanks for using Fixya!

Can't connect wireless stereo to sylvania 6620LF4

you can hook this particular unit up to your stereo reciever if available. if i am not mistaken the original design purpose of these headphones were to be powered through a stereo reciever, at least it is a sure fire way of keeping your tv's sound in tact and using the headphones when needed. most receivers have a speaker a and speaker b configuration if you attach the lead from the headphone unit to the opposing speaker input then you can have the functions you desire and the performance you have indicated. hopes this fixya.

Cords,reciever, and headphones

The curly cord goes into the headphones themselves. It is for recharging the batteries. The power cord is obvious. The audio cord plugs into your computer, laptop, TV, radio, etc. To USE the head phones, unplug them from the curly cord. The sound goes from your laptop, etc. to the pillar-type thingy, from there it goes into the air where your headphones pick it up. I use mine while doing housework and tossing the ball outside with my dog. While my laptop sits in the office I can hear my audio book in the yard outside and all around the house. Just remember to plug the headphones back into the curly cord to recharge the battery. If / when the batteries die, you can use regular AA batteries...BUT DON"T PLUG THE CURLY CORD INTO "AA" BATTERIES or IT WILL BLOW UP!!
