I haven't used my jvc mini dv GR-DX75AS in years. I plugged to DC power and a red light blinks but doesn't charge the batteries or allows me to get the cassette out.

If it's a JVC GR-D72, then it's MiniDV. Connect the camcorder via firewire to your PC

This model is not supporting with pc when you play cassette only it is supporting with memory stick

Hi, I am not sure. But I believe the camcorder has to be on when you connect to the computer. and I assume you use firewire for this particular camcorder.
I too once had this problem when I used Windows Vista. If you too use Vista, try it with Windows XP.
