The outside of My unit has become sticky and has an odd aroma. I think the chemical component coating is changing. I have included a picture Ser# CE0389 Respectfully, ken henson

Try applying the solution for sticky old Tupperware . Rub with a rag or paper towel moistened with household ammonia until the sticky surface is no longer sticky. Worked like a charm on my sticky Bushnell binoculars (and on Tupperware). .They were unusable before treatment. I suspect plasticizer migration.

The grundig g6 has sticky case

Sounds like oils from your hands (or someones) over time has reacted to a coating on the radio. Try Isopropyl or denatured alcohol and paper towels and/or cotton balls. Do not be surprised if you loose the coating. The sticky is the body oils de-bonding abd breaking down the rubberized coating.

Sticky black handles on Farberware frying pan

I tried the grease cutting soap to no avail. Decided it needed a more aggressive approach. Since the suggested cause was grease, I decided to try my automotive brake cleaning spray. That did not wash the surface but it did soften the surface enough to discover the culprit was a deteriorated coating Farberware put on the handle. The brake cleaner was effective in softening the coating such that I could use my finger nail to scrap it off. I now have a smooth non sticky handle.

How, remove, 1985, bmw, k100, seat

If I remember correctly (long time ago so rate me kindly even for the suggestion). i think you turn the key for the helmet lock (on side of bike). it might turn one way for helmet lock and the other for the seat lock. Same key as ignition.

Seat locks do get rusty and sticky. If it is not moving, try prying up the right side of the seat a bit to look under to see if you can unlatch it manually by moving anything under there. Also try the BMWbikes forum for suggestions - it has been a long time for me. Those guys live it every day.

My Tivoli Pal radio casing has a sticky feel on it, everywhere...how does one clean this or make it non - sticky

Just cleaned mine this morning because it was so ridiculously sticky and dirty with great success with nail polish remover and cotton pads. Read this solution posted elsewhere but was worried about ruining the finish, and there are warnings on the bottle about not using it on plastics......but tried a bit on the back. Went very well and with a load of pads and alot of scrubbing, it came completely clean! No sticky residue left, no discolouration. Looks brand new!

My Chinon 10x25R binoculars have the same problem.

Simple use soft lint free cloth like old drying up cloth, you need about half a cup of methalayted spirits, can get this from any hardware store.
poke finger into cloth dip into meths proceed to rub sticky coating off binoculars. you will need to keep changing to a new peace of the cloth as soon as it gets coated with the sticky black stuff off binoculars.
keep dipping into meths eventually after say 6 rubs in a particular area you will see and feel a nice hard black plastic, continue all over effected area then finish off with any window cleaner polish until cloth remains clean.STICKY COATING IS NOW GONE IT WAS INFACT A COATING PUT ON THE BINOCULARS TO MAKE THEM NONE SLIP. job done. regards GER8
