SOURCE: peg-perego John Deere buck EXT reads fully charged, but won't go.
I would replace the high/low switch and the reverse switch.
You can get the peg perego parts at http://www.shopjandl.com/
but I would first check the connections on the motors and foot switch. Sometimes they come loose.
Hope this helps

Look at the fuel filter bowl on the rear of the engine right hand side to see if you can see a red ring raised up slightly from the bottom of the bowl.If you can see the ring then there is water in the fuel[or ice by now]You will need to take of the filter and get the water out of the filter bowl by taking it indoors to thaw. Before removing the filter bowl, turn off the fuel, petcock is just above and to the rear of the filter.Once the water is out you then need to clean the bowl out and re-install with a new filter.Pick up a product called "diesel melt" at the dealership and add it to your fuel for the rest of the cold season{follow the instruction on the bottle}.If this is not the case then the linkage on the injection pump may need to be adjusted to get the rpm up to no more than 2450 rpm..

this problem is related to the auto-snesing carburator. If you wrap the throttle cable, that runs down the left side of the mower, around the handle several times and tie wrap in place the mower will run. I had the same issue with mine. the manual is vague at best when it describes how to fix. After you wrap the cable around the handle, it will tighten the cable and the mower will run.

SOURCE: Just changed the fuel filter on a John deere 1020,
If the fuel filter is full when replaced it shouldn't be necessary. But if you have access to compressed air, put air to the fuel tank and that will do it. Hope that helps ya.
