I am trying to play racedriver grid online,keep getting lost connection,playstation store works fine and internet test fine!!please help frustrated pc amatuer! thanks to anyone who can find the time to help me !

First make sure that your PS3 connects with your acces point eather wireless or with wire, te second step is configurate your PS3 for wire connection or wireless connection.
These settings are found under the network settings.
Also see the manual to see how you need to configurate the PS3 in detail.

Allso make sure when the PS3 is connected corectly to the acces point that the firewall of the acces point is not interfearing the connection.

Perhaps your internet connection speed isn't fast enough or there is too much latency on your connection. On any computers/gaming consoles that are on the network try to disconnect them from the internet while you try to play your game.

its not sony fault ,i just found out today it ur service if u have a DLS ur going to keep being signed out till it finaly sign u out for good, just call ur service and change ur internet service or upgrade it ,ok dont wrry lol

Might just have something wrong with the connection itself, were is your Xbox located? If it is in a obstructed place far from the router this could affect it

hard wire the ps3 to the router first to see if connection is lost.............if not it's interference between ps3 and router

try to reboot your router and modem.

step one turn off your ps3 and wirelss router if you have one and un plug them.

step two turn off modem and unplug that.

then wait a few mins.

then plug your modem in and let it fire up so that all lights are working and you have your dsl light is solid.

then plug in your wireless router if you have one and do the same. you should then see the activity light on the modem go off and on.

once your router is ready and fired up then plug in your playstation. and go through the set up process. do a test and make sure it at least passes the IP test.

then try it again if that doesnt work get ahold of your internet provider

try seeing that all things are plugged in and the ethernet cord is plugged in right because someone might have a horrible connection in the party you may have to restart the modem again

How are you hooked up to your Internet ? is it Via a WiFi Router ? if so, ensure that the router is compatible with the Playstation 3. Also, have you tried calling your internet service provider ? they are usually able to solve connection problems with regards to game consoles etc.

the way you explain this problem sounds like you just logged onto which ever connection you found! did you or afamily member set up a commection using belkin54g?

back to basics!
in order to connect to the net with any device...PC (if you dont have a pc how did you send this post?)...Wii PS3 first you need to install and connect to your own internet connection device i.e.ASDL Broadband rooter..call it what you want

lol it sounds like you've been useing your next door neighbour's unsecured internet connection...nice cheap way to get connected.....but a bit of a bummer when text door go on holiday
i suggest setting up your own rooter (withyour own password)

I guessing you live close to a neighbor that has an unsecured wireless network. It is possible that they changed their security settings to block out other IP addresses (meaning your PS3). The best solution would be to establish your own internet connection and/or wireless network thru a local broadband internet provider.
