Alcatel TCL A3y. Can barely hear incoming calls despite volume set at highest level. Anything I can do?

It seems a known issue. You could use the speaker or use a Bluetooth earpiece.

Did you increase the Volume whilst ON a call? Otherwise you are just turning up the ringer volume.

I have an alcatel one touch 2012G phone. Cannot hear incoming callers. Volume control is OK and sound is working on headphones and speaker phone.

Go to the settings and make the call app to display notifications or sound out...if using a downloaded app for calling, adjust the settings of the app

How do I increase volume on an alcatel big easy flip phone?

Hi there
You need to modify the sound settings, select Options > Customize. One of the functions available is :
Volume: Press the Left or Right Navigation key to adjust the volume using the Up or Down Navigation key or volume key on the left side of your phone.
If you have further problems, you can download and save a pdf (Acrobat Reader) version of this phone's manual from here:

Where is speaker on alcatel cell phone?

? Microphone? For the other person to hear you the microphone on the phone must work. You cannot adjust that. For you to hear them you need a speaker on your phone. You can adjust the volume of the speaker on your phone. If callers cannot hear you try putting your phone on the speaker, rather than handset mode so it becomes a speaker phone. Then, while talking to someone to test the phone, try holding it in different ways to see if you are covering the microphone with your fingers. Without knowing what model of phone (specifically) you have I can't figure out where these are located on your phone. You can google the model though and locate them yourself easily.

Can't find the hands free speaker button

In an increasingly hands-free world, the external speaker feature of cell phones has increased the usability of cell phonesmag-glass_10x10.gif in the car, public transportation and at work. The volume controls on the external speaker controls can be somewhat difficult to find and manipulate.
  1. Step 1 Make sure the speaker setting is actually on. If the speaker is turned to off, the volume you hear will be coming from the earpiece and will be very low indeed. Sometimes there is a button on a cellphone which you can simply press and hold to activate the speaker function. You will notice a difference immediately.
  2. Step 2 Check to see if you have external volume controls. On some models, there is a button or two buttons that adjust the volume of both the handset and the speaker volume. If you have these buttons, use them to adjust these controls while on calls. Remember that adjusting the speaker volume will subsequently adjust the handset volume once you've turned off the speaker mode.
  3. Step 3 Access the sound controls in your phone. If your phone does not have external speaker control, it can be accessed by adjusting the controls saved on your phone. Also, the main settings can be controlled even if you do have external controls. Phones are different, but in your menu of options, choose sound and sound controls. This should give you options for ring volume, alarm volume and handset volume.
  4. Step 4 FInd volume controls for all settings. If you wish yo have multiple settings for each function---alarm, calls and speaker---you should be able to adjust these accordingly. Search through the control options until you've found speaker controls. Choose the setting you desire and save the settings.
  5. Step 5 Using the main volume as a foundation, use the external controls (if applicable) to adjust the levels.

ALCATEL 4028/4029 PHONE. WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF IT PLAYS MUSIC SO I CAN HEAR IT WHILE I WORK?

Depends which Alcatel system the 4028/4029 is connected to.
If OXO, you will require an external music source to be connected to the AUDIO-IN port on the CPU (RJ45 plug using pins 1&2) and is recommended to install MOH/Paging isolating transformer. To enable background music on 4028/4029, hold the green speaker key for several seconds. Starts flashing and the volume can be adjusted with the + & - beside the mute key. To disable, just repeat hold process.
If OXE, will require engineer to program softkey & again will require an external music source...
Good luck...
