Does the outside sensor use batteries?

yes, behind the cover, it takes 4 screws to remove
2 are easy but the other 2 are under the flip up stand

I have a Taylor 2750(R) Rain Guage and can not seem to get the rain amounts to inches instead of mm. Anyone have any suggestions- I have the directions, and it does not seem to address this. Thanks

I copied the following text from the users manual.

The receiver unit is factory set to diplay total rainfall in inches. To switch measurement to millimeters, press and hold the "-" butto for 3 seconds. The display will switch to mllimeters.

The trick also works to switch from mm to in.

Lost my instructions. I replaced the batteries and I can't get it to sinc up.
