Hi my dell inspiron 530 computer recently can't play disc ,so like most people i checked for solutions for this problem ,non of them worked which got me furious until i found out that my Region fo

To change the Region code on your DVD player, open Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device manager, and click on DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on the DVD drive and click Properties then click on DVD Region.
You can enter a new region and it also shows you how many changes have been made.
NOTE you can make only 4 changes and the player will lock permanently on the 4th change.
If you want to play DVDs from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmware to make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrong firmware the player will be a piece of junk.
The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece of software (Passkey for DVD) that allows you to play DVDs from any region and Passkey for Blu-ray that allows you to play Blu-rays from any region. There are several available on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free From: -

My Presario CQ61 has changed DVD zones the maximum number of times allowed. It is now set to a zone that prohibits me playing anything from Australia.

Copied from somwhere else...

I came across a web site called DVDRhelp.com which tells how to reset the region codes for software DVD players.

" Q: How do I make my DVD drive region free (remove region codes/country codes/zone locks)?
A: Use DVD Region-Free to make your region locked DVD drive and your software player region free. You can also 'patch' your DVD drives firmware, you can also try a patched DVD drive firmware (it is freeware, but may be a bit tricky and 'dangerous').

Q: How do I make WinDVD,PowerDVD,Win2k region free?
A: Use DVD Region-Free to make your software player region free. Or use DVD Genie (freeware) to make your software DVD Player region free.

Side note: firmware is "miniature" software which runs an electronic device. Some electronic devices have updatable firmware that can be downloaded from the manufacturer's web site and re-programmed into the device. This is referred to as flashing the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) or EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory). A word of warning: if a firmware upgrade is interrupted due to a power outage or computer freezeup, the device may cease to function.

I am in Australia and have just bought a DMR BW500. I have a dvd from Japan which won't work on it and I have been told that if I unlock the region code, then it will work. So how do I unlock the region...

The following works on a region 4 player. With no disc in the player and the drawer closed, press stop, stop, setup, then 3,8,8,8,3 and the desired region code, (0 for multiregion). Nothing will appear on screen. Then switch the player off and back on. It should now play discs for any region

I am unable to change the dvd regional setting to australia (4)but the list says i have one change left

Do you know where to change the region setting?
If not go to the Device Manager - click on DVD/CD-ROM Driver - then right click on your DVD drive, and click on Properties then DVD Region. You can change your region you require.
If you cannot change the region and the region is locked or you have run out of changes, you can install Region Free software on your computer that allows you to play DVDs from any region.
There may be freeware available on the Internet (do a Google search), but I use DVD Region Free from www.dvdidle.com
it costs a few dollars but I have no problems with it, my DVD drive is locked on Region 1.
There are firmware upgrades available for DVD drives that make them region free, but if you make a mistake with the wrong firmware update then your DVD drive is now a piece of junk.

I Can Not Find a YAMADA DVD-7600XTV Region Unlocker

I don't know if this will work but I can atleast try to help

1) Open the disc tray.
2) While the tray is open, enter the following code with the remote's numeric pad: 2812
3) To change the region code, press the "Enter" button repeatedly. "Region 9" means all regions will be enabled.
4) Close the tray to save the desired setting.

Other Zoran Vaddis 776 based players have other options on this screen (such as Macrovision Enable/Disable) but this player only offers the region code setting (note the unused available space for other menu options).

If you press "Display" on the remote, the firmware version will be displayed.

or
1. Press "Eject"
2. Press "Setup"
3. Press 3x on the right "Präferenzen-Setup"
4. Press 7x Down "Land"
5. Press 1, 3, 7, 9
6. And 0 for code free
7. Press "Play"

Changing the DVD Region code

New DVD-ROM drives come with a firmware level RPC-2 with hardware protection. RPC 2 drives have a 5 change limit on regions, once the counter gets to 0 your drive is permanently locked to the last region it was set to. Even if you reformat or move the drive to another system it will still be locked to the last region. There are ways to get around it, some models have resetting tools made by 3rd parties to reset the change limit back to 5 and some also have firmware patches to remove the region lock.

The first solution is free VideoLAN player: click here to download VideoLAN.

The second solution is free Remote Selector tool: click here to download Remote Selector. Launch remselec22.exe file. Click Control tab. Choose Enabled, and check all options Region Free, Disable Macrovision, Disable User Prohibition Click Start Player button, and try to play your DVD

Finally Load another firmware for your DVD drive which disables the region code protection.

HELP

You can try this one:
Turn the player on and open the disc tray. Press [CLEAR] followed by [1][3][6][9] and one of the keys [0]...[8] corresponding to the region you want to set the player for (1 for Region 1, 2 for Region 2 and so on, press 0 for Region 0 or Region Free). Turn the player off then on again for the changes to take effect.

To verify the region code, press [SETUP] followed by [1][3][7][9]. A screen will then pop up with the firmware info and the current region code setting.
