I take it that you are sharing your ICOM's antenna with other equipment. It would also help to know what ICOM you are using. However, it could well be that the multiplexer is preventing the GPS signal from getting to the radio. This is assuming that the GPS receiver actually uses the external antenna. Also, if the radio is in the basement and the GPS antenna is internal to the radio, you may not have enough signal getting to the receiver.

I finds very difficult to read a particular station in my icom 718

Hi,

please move the radio away from it's current position to attempt to find alternative position where it's frequency will be transmitted clearly as intended. Also, please keep away from any microwaves or speakers so as not to cause any interference. Thank you.

I have an '02 Sierra. The trailer connector shows a negative for right blinker. On left, it shows positive. Trailer left blinker works, right does not.

From your description it would seem the towing electrics have been incorrectly wired or perhaps the problem is with your trailer.

My advice is to go back to basics, get yourself a diagram and investigate as deep as necessary. Your car is probably filled with digital electronics including a multiplex lighting system. If the towing electrics are an official GM kit there should be no problems but if it has been wired the old fashioned way a multiway relay should be used to prevent the trailer drawing/interfering with the multiplexed vehicle lights.
That is the safest way but it does mean the circuit becomes more complex.

I have an Astatic D-104-m6b (4-pin connector) and need to rewire it for my ICOM IC-7410 (8-pin xcvr). I need help with the wire colors to the correct pins.

You've probably already found the answer to this question but doing a search for D104 wiring to ICOM will show you what you need. If the connector is the 8 pin circular one, then the PTT and MIC connections are the same for all ICOM radios.

Rear power locks

Sounds like there is a coupler in the multiplex that may not be fully connected. Multiplex is the control switches on the drivers door. If the issue is sporadic sometimes it is getting power and sometimes its not.

The manual for your Icom R10 can be downloaded here:

Pay particular attention to pages 7 & 8, as they deal specifically with NiCad & Alkaline battery usage and the charge switch.

Broken Polycom Multiplexer QUAD BRI

I have had similar situations with the multiplexer where individual lines stopped working. I would recommend to just go to ebay and search for a replacement there. The used devices are usually so cheap that it is not worth opening up and repairing the quad bri.

ICOM GP-360ML GPS Receiver

I had this problem about a year ago. If all you need is the firmware update they will update it at no charge and they told me if it needs repairs they most likely will not have the parts becaus it is a discontinued model. They also said they did checked it and found no other problems. Sent it in to Icom:
Icom America
2380 116th Ave NE
Bellevue WA 98004
They did the firmware update and sent it back to me free of charge. It works great now and my chart cards work great.
