Question about Toshiba 42H81 42" Rear Projection Television
Slowly started to stop functioning day by day. One day, 10 of 10 pushing of any button worked. The next day, it was 9 of 10, then 8 of 10 and so on untuil it stopped working altogether. Tried replacing the batteries. This did nothing. Bought a Toshiba-approved replacement remote, to rule out a faulty remote. The replacement remote did nothing as well. What further steps can I take (easiest ones first) to pinpoint the problem? If it is not the remote, I can only ssume it has something to do with the remote sensor in the TV itself, right?
Thanks in advance.
Ctf: thanks for the tip. however, im not sure i have the skills to do that, or even know what to look for. when you say "black box", what are you referring to? Cheers.

You answered your own question. yes it is with the receiver on the tv. most like the receiver led it self sounds bad. if you take the little black box apart inside you will see a led receiver and an ic you might be able to find one at mcm electronics that looks about the same.
