Sharp r-559y microwave, how do I disable the beep?

Lots of issues with this gimmicky microwave. Call for service, the only thing you can try is a power reset. Reviews are not good which is odd for a brand leader like Sharp.

I'm not familiar with that particular model, but with many of their models (and many other manufacturer models as well), unfortunately the beep cannot be turned off.

Hi Timothy, your Microwave Sharp Half Pint, does not have any receptacle for batteries, therefore, if unplugged, it cannot generate any sound
As Robert Oliver suggests, notice that another device nearby, that if it has batteries, may be making that sound

The buzzer is responsible for beep,it is mounted on PCB assembly,either remove the same or cut the supply sourse to it.

There is really no way to do this without taking the oven apart and pulling the control board.

Unplug microwave, open top, "several screws" look to where the keypad is, behind that you should see the control board, mounted you should see a round black device may be a speaker or pizza buzzer, verify that is sound.

I too have Sharp microwave that constantly beeps at approximately one minute intervals if the food you have been heating isn't removed. It is loud, persistent and extremely annoying. I've opened the machine to try and find the loud speaker but cannot find it (it could be built in to the circuitry?). Any help on this would be appreciated. It's a very unfortunate design flaw on what is otherwise a very good and easy to use microwave.

listen for a click not just a beep, if it doesn't click the relay is bad on the pc board, if it clicks the trace may be blown to the relay

The board has malfunctioned . replace it
