We just bought a Danby DDW1899WP portable dishwasher today. Ran it through one wash cycle without any dishes and it worked fine. Once we loaded it up with dishes to give it a go, it drained three times on the pre-wash cycle then stopped and just beeped with the drying cycle light flashing fast. We checked the blades, water pressure, water temperature and even flipped it upsides down to drain it. It won’t work!! Did we buy a dud?

SOURCE: Danby Dishwasher stuck in drain cycle after wrong soap use

There might be water in the overflow sensor. I unloaded the dishwasher and lifted the front so the dishwasher rested on its back. There's a narrow gray tube that runs down from the bottom right of the door. The tube runs into a white piece of plastic with some wires coming out of it. There is a rubber plug that covers a nipple on the plastic. Pull the rubber plug off. Mine was quite tight. Tip the dishwasher back onto its casters to drain the water from the overflow. Check to see if the dishwasher functions normally, then put the rubber plug back on.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Dishwasher not draining completely problem usually occurs due to clogged/blocked drain hose-filter assembly or the drain pump not working. First try to clean the drain hose and drain pump filter located inside the front bottom panel for any clogs, then check drain pump operation. Take off the bottom access panel to clean the drain pump filter and hose. If the problem returns after cleaning then it is the drain pump that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Danby DDW1899WP Portable Dishwasher will no longer turn on

If it just has no water, then it would be a fairly safe bet it was the water inlet valve. If it is completely unresponsive, that points to either a power issue or a control board issue. You will need a Service Technician, and you may be better off with a new one depending on the age of it. The reviews put it at about 3 years old and $429. It is more of a freestanding machine that portable, it just has wheels. It looks useful.

I need a manual for a Danby Model DDW1899WP-1 portable dishwasher

Danby has the manual for the DDW1899WP-1 on the product information site: https://www.danby.com/en-us/products/kitchen-en-us/ddw1899wp-1/ . Look in the right hand column as you scroll down. The direct link to the Owner's Manual is currently: https://www.danby.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/DDW1899WP-1_EFOM_201504212.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Why won't my portable dishwasher work?

Recommend check door closed and not blocked; sprayer not blocked, dispenser not clogged, door latch locking and latch sensor connected and conducting.

Danby portable dishwasher ddw1899wp starts taking in water and then stops working with pre-rinse light blinking. Please help me on this issue. Any answer would be much appreciated.

If the water level sensor does not electrically shut off when the level needed is reached, the pre-rinse cycle will error out thinking that the level has not been reached. That sensor is a float device and probably needs to be replaced...

I have a Danby DDW1899WP portable dishwasher. I just got it yesterday. I had a lot of dirty dishes so I did 1 cycle first and it worked perfectly, I was impressed. I then started a 2nd cycle for the rest...

I realize the above question is almost 4 years old, but I am sure others are still having this problem. My Danby was behaving the same way: drying cycle light would flash like it was having a myocardial infarction, and the cycle would stop. I could only get the light to stop flashing by turning the unit off. What you didn\'t say above is what happens then: everything most likely returns to normal-- or at least, so it seems. I have now had this happen to me two times in a row with my Danby 1899WP. Each time the machine has started up just fine, drains water out, loads in fresh water, and begins the wash cycle, only to freeze up with that damn flashing red light on the dry cycle and the dishes not clean. I have owned it for about two months, and so far this is my only complaint. I am running it again right now, for the third time, and we shall see what that light does now.... Will report back afterward!

I have a water-softener dispenser in my Danby 1899 W Portable diswasher. I do not know how to fill the dispenser and I cannot run the dishwasher until this is resolved. The user manual provides no...

I couldn't find it either for a long time:

1) Pull out the bottom rack as if you were putting dishes there
2) Look at the bottom of the dishwasher and there will be a white circle (near the upper left side) where you can add the water softener.

I didn't use any for a while and the dishwasher worked great so I'm not sure why you can't run it.
