Child lock my daughter lock the television with the child lock and the remote is lost. I brought a universal remote but it wont work. the television is a hitachi c21-rf80s year june, 2005.

Okay Welkins, try to power of the tv and power it on by keep on pressing POWER-BUTTON and MENU-BUTTON at the same time,... and see if the tv start into de menu mode....if it does...just keep on using volume "up and "down" button combined with channel "up" and "down" buttons to select an reach the UNLOCK-MODE...most of the time the MENU button will be the enter button after each sellection....hoping to inform you correctly I remain,Yours Friendly.

You must consult the manual or technical support for your model of set. Tell them you are looking for child lock reset. Possibly you will have to buy a replacement or (cheaper) a so-called universal remote.
Check which brands will work with a "universal" remote before purchase.

well then you will have to take the tv to a fixing place to get the lock removed and then buy a universal remote or find the one you've lost

OMG it worked my tv was locked on child safety for 1 month you have to get any universal remote and try all the codes mine was 0224

hi..To do a Child Lock, follow these steps:

1. Turn on your TV.
2. On the remote, press the Menu button. The Set-Up Menu appears.
3. Scroll to the Key Lock function and set function to Off.
4. Press the Exit button to exit....

Well the universal remote will need to have the ability to gain access to the menu so you can go and change the settings for the "v-chip" or what ever the child lock is that you speak of. I hope you know what the password is or it may be "locked" for a very very long time. I say this about the password because usually this control is password protected. Yours may not be but,.... Good luck. What you seek is in the menu sequences somewhere. Start pushin buttons!

The answer to this depends on the model. My service literature does not reveal the answer, so you will have to call Philips. Try unplugging the TV for a few minutes first. Even if the remote is programmed properly, the lock will still keep it from turning on.

Hi Juzzy I fixed my unit with a universal remote ( can buy them at electrical store) or borrow a friends key in 0061 (this worked on my VH-605 ) on the new remote and hit play and away you go !!
