The drivers for Windows 7 are needed. Please install Vantage Point 1.94 as they contain the drivers.

Go to www.microsoft.com and download the latest DIRECTX drivers and install them.

Also turn off .net frame if you do not need it.

Don't bother with the 400 on a Win7 machine even though Magellan claims it will work. I also keep getting a bad pool header blue screen on mine even though I've updated everything I could. The best thing to do is to either setup a dual boot system with WinXP and only plug it in while running XP (Don't bother with XP mode in Win7) or have a second system that's dedicated to XP and run Vantage point from it like what I run now from my laptop.

The whole problem is caused by the Triton driver and for some reason Win7 doesn't like it all that much. Vantage Point does run great inside Win7 but as soon as you plug in the Triton, that's when it all starts to screw up.

All we can do is wait until Magellan gives us a proper working driver.

Its called Vantage Point and its on the Magellan web site. The drivers to download Geocaches is there also.

The Triton GPS drivers load when you install Vantage Point which is free off the magellangps.com website.

OK .. you could have many possible causes. The most likely is that the magellan drivers are not installed on your computer. If you installed Vantage Point you will find them under the c:\magellan drivers folder.

Now without Vantage Point being on just connect the GPS to the computer and turn it on. Then open up the device manager on your computer and you will see a PORT COM(number). Click on the properties and see if the device driver is enabled and working.

If it is not.. then uninstall the present driver and reinstall from your computer by pointing to the c:\magellan drivers folder.

The drivers are in the directory c:\Magellan Drivers. If they are absent .. then you need to reinstall Vantage Point.
