Hello, Nikon Coolpix 8100 camera. Battery has difficulties loading. light blinking at back stops aft. several minutes, then beep, and start blinking faster. Blank screen confirming battery is empty.

The behavior you describe is a camera connected to a computer and it changes WHILE the computer sees the camera and it is ON (computer). When you shut down the Computer it will blink rapidly and it will not charge. if you charge with POWER ADAPTER. It will only BLINK while it charges. When it STOPS blinking it is FULLY charged.

One possible solution is to go to www.bestbuy.com and chose the "Order Parts" option at the bottom of the page. Follow the prompts and you will find you can order your battery from there.

Charging issues
There should be 3.7 volt come out from the battery connectors - +
If the battery is low voltage a short measure after a3 minutes and you see the batterie voltage runs very fast back by measure with a multimeter , replace the battery. if there is no difference after the connect of 3 minutes the loadcycle if you can measure any dc from the load connector of the loader to be shure that its not the loader what is defect.

Read page 16 of the manual. Do not use any other charger with this camera. Are you sure you have the battery inserted correctly? When trying to charge, does the green light blink? If so, when it stops blinking and turns off, the battery should be fully charged. Do not attempt to turn the camera on while the charger is trying to charge the battery.
