Sunbeam microwave Sgg5701 will not turn off,had to unplug from wall.

yes,unplug the unit,take the screws out of the side and back lift the cabinet up and off and you will see a fuse right on top replace it.hope this helps

Unplug microwave, open top, "several screws" look to where the keypad is, behind that you should see the control board, mounted you should see a round black device may be a speaker or pizza buzzer, verify that is sound.

You need to get it looked at professionally. Faulty microwaves are not really the thing that you should be repairing at home. They can be lethal. Find a local repair shop and get a quote for repair.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.

Sounds like you have a bad door switch.  Will have to take control panel off and test switches resistance to see if they are opening and closing properly.  If a switch is stuck in or bad the microwave thinks the door is closed.  This is where I would start.  Let me know what you find.

If the fuse blows as soon as you plug the oven in the wall, or when you open the door, the problem is likely with the door switches.

If the fuse blows as soon as you hit START, then it's likely that you have a shorted high-voltage capacitor.
