Check the lock status, if the network lock is still active then you need to unlock to use it with other GSM network. You can get the unlock code through online..........give your IMEI number and get the unlock code for ur mobile.... i will suggest the website Unlock-Zone.com which is doing good service .....you can approach this website. This site is nearly perfect and they were recommended highly in the cell phone forums. I used them to unlock my cell phone. contacted them and within 30 mins i had my unlock code and my phone was unlocked. Hope this helps.
You can stop unauthorized use of your J108a phone by activating phone lock protection.
After activating, you will be asked to enter your phone lock code every time you restart the phone.
The default phone lock code is 0000 (zero-zero-zero-zero). It is recommended that you change this to any four-to-eight-digit personal code.
Note: It is important that you remember your new code. If you forget it, you need to take your phone to your local Sony Ericsson retailer.
To activate the phone lock:
1. Select Menu > Settings > General > PIN codes > Phone protection > Protection. 2. Select 'On' if you want to enter a lock code every time you start the phone, or select 'Automatic' if you want the code to be entered only when the phone restarts after a new SIM card is inserted. 3. Enter the phone lock code (0000 by default) and select OK.
To unlock the phone:
• When 'Phone locked' appears, enter your phone lock code and select OK.
To change the phone lock code:
1. Select Menu > Settings > General > PIN codes > Phone protection > Change code. 2. Enter the old code and select OK. 3. Enter the new code and select OK. 4. Repeat the code and select OK.
This solution was taken from Sony Ericsson J108a user guide which can be downloaded at:
try 1111 or 0000.. first try putting in the code you want when it asks for a current password then it should ask you to confirm it, put in your password again. if that dont work try 1111 or 0000. and if none of this works call customer service they can walk you through it
Hi fiqa_skygurl,
You have three options: On, Automatic and Off. ‘On’ means that you will be required to enter the passcode every time the phone is switched on, where as ‘Automatic’ will only require a password if the SIM is changed.
To activate any of these functions, hit the centre button to enter the main menu, then scroll down to the Settings icon and press Select. Now scroll straight down to Locks, press Select, then choose Phone lock and press Select . Before you begin, you’ll need to change the code to something only you know . By default the Phone lock code is set to ‘0000’ so highlight Change code and press Select, then enter ‘0000’ and press OK. Now you’ll need to enter a new code twice in order to activate it .
Once you’ve changed the code scroll up to Protection. Press Select to adjust the protection level . Choose from On, Automatic and Off, then press Select . You’ll be required to enter your passcode to continue, then you’ll see a confirmation message.

good luck with your fix,,, have a nice day,,
A VERY HELPFUL RATING IS APPRECIATED, Thanks Regards Arul
dont put it in the freezer thats for car radios with certain displays, a phone lock if accidently activated should either be 0000 1234 by default if you have changed it you should know the code but otherwise you would have to guess the 9999 combinations from 0000 upwards to 9999 whilst keeping your fingers crossed that its only 4 digits long
