Remove the batteries for 24 hours and the camera should reset itself.

Battery exhausted, change them, take one photo, and camera says battery exhausted again. I have this camera one year and this is the first time this has happened.

Good quality rechargeable batteries are a must for these cameras. What I would suggest is AA' NI-MH rechargeable batteries the type that come already charged and when used and recharged will hold their charge up to 80% for a year. These batteries you will find will outlast any AA Alkaline type. If you are using a no name department store AA Alkaline type battery it's a wonder it even turned on.

Installed new batteries and the camera will not turn on. The camera has been sitting up for 6 mo. with no use. We used energizer lithium batteries.

Try using recomended batteries:
optional KODAK EASYSHARE Docks with 1 KODAK Ni-MH Rechargeable Digital Camera Battery KAA2HR; 2 Ni-MH batteries AA, 2 lithium batteries AA; 1 KODAK Lithium Digital Camera Battery CRV3; KODAK Ni-MH 2100mAh Battery Pack, KODAK Digital Camera Battery AA (ZR6); KODAK Alkaline Digital Camera Batteries AA; 3 volt DC input AC adapter

You can even contact Kodak direct and they will send you a free CRV3 battery to test with.

Camera will not work after Ni-MH and Ni-Cd batteries used

Its not good for the batteries to combine different types but it shouldn't have affected the camera as the voltage they produce is the same. Try a couple of Eveready AA lithium batteries.

S630 lens out and wont turn on

Cameras belonging to the S Series really do have a battery type option that needs to be set up first for proper power connection.

Recommended batteries are just:
- Alkaline (Non-rechargeable)
- Nickel-metal Hydride (Rechargeable)

Just the proper battery type by:

- Pressing MENU/OK button
- Scroll to the right until you are in SETUP 2
- Keep on scrolling down and look for battery type
- Press the right button to pick up on 2 options
like Alkaline and Ni-MH
- Press MENU/OK for changes to be saved
- Keep pressing MENU/OK to get out of the MENU

Once, it's done, camera needs to be turned off for a few seconds
so that settings made will be refreshed with the camera.

As you turn camera on, you're now ready to take many pictures.

ALKALINE (Non-rechargeable) batteries when set to the correct battery type will really take a maximum of 100 pictures.

For the Rechargeable batteries (Ni-MH), when those are fully charged, and the battery type is set to Ni-MH, it will be taking more than a hundred of course.

I hope this help you a lot.
