DVD copy and Paste aborts Copying PDF files from DVD on laptop with windows Vista. 1800 + files, about 2.72 gigs. Using copy and paste. It stops responding with about 2 min to go, copying about 1/2 the files. First time we've used the U3

Comment was valuable and I will follow suggestion. Thank you.

I found the problem later. Somehow, the "LaunchU3" file got transferred from the Flash Drive to the DVD. That's where it stops pasting. I tried to delete the file, but Explorer stops responding when I do that.

How can I delete that file from DVD?

Hi, i want to suggest you to never use "COPY and PASTE" function for copying files to dvd,you must use nero8 or any previous version for burning the files in large quantity,
and if you are not able to arrange any of such softwares, you may try copying the files into a folder, and than paste folder in the DVD,and close all applications while copying,
tell me the results plz

How to cut copy and paste in windows vista

Cut, copy, & paste in Vista work the same as in every other version of Windows.

Cut or Copy:
  • First, select the content you want to cut or copy. It can be text, graphics, or even files.
  • Next, select Cut (or copy) from the Edit menu. If you prefer using the keyboard, then use Control-X to cut, or Control-C to copy.
Paste:
  • Click where you want to put the content you just cut/copied
  • Select Paste from the Edit menu, or press Control-V.

How do I save a movie to file from disc?

Most commercial DVDs have copy protection to prevent the content being stored elsewhere. The owners of the content use this to protect their investment into the work. Please respect the copyright on all work and remember that in some jurisdictions, making or distributing copies of copyright work is not only a civil offence but criminal as well.

How to copy and paste

left click once on what you want to copy one item
hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse over the desired text you wish to select to copy and then let go of the left mouse button
so it is highlighted and then
hold down CTRL key and press C to copy
Hold down CTRL key and press V to Paste
Assuming it is a windows system
If it is apple the apple key and C I think does copy
Any edit tab option on the program usually has copy and paste
You can also use in Windows the right mouse button to bring up a menu where copy and paste are options to select.
If you are copying files you can also use CTRL A for select All
CTRL to select more than one item
Shift to select a range of items
if Windows
If you are using ubuntu the shift key plus CTRL plus V must also be used when pasting into the terminal window.

Ive just installed windows 7 on my pc and I wanted to know where to paste my old yahoo messenger conversations... I installed yahoo but I think its another version of it and I just cant find the Profile...

Your "Profiles" folder contains your complete message history archive on your computer. You can copy it to the same location on another computer if you want to view it there. We've included instructions for Windows XP and Windows Vista users.
To locate your complete message history archive on Windows XP:
  1. Open the "Run" command: press Windows Logo+R on your keyboard.
  2. Copy and paste the text below into the Run command ' then click OK:

    %ProgramFiles%\Yahoo!\Messenger\
To locate your complete message history archive on Windows Vista or Windows 7 (32-bit):
  1. Open the "Run" command: press Windows Logo+R on your keyboard.
  2. Copy and paste the text below into the Run command ' then click OK:

    %LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\
To locate your complete message history archive on Windows Vista or Windows 7 (64-bit):
  1. Open the "Run" command: press Windows Logo+R on your keyboard.
  2. Copy and paste the text below into the Run command ' then click OK:

    %LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Yahoo!\Messenger\
Warning: Copying your Profiles folder to another computer overwrites any existing message history archive on that computer and it is replaced by yours. That overwritten message history archive will be permanently eliminated by this process. (Workaround: Backup that message archive first to a storage medium such as a CD ROM.)

Copying/ printing

Yes, as long as there is actually text in the PDF. If the PDF contains only and image of the words, then you can't copy them. Also some PDFs may be secured against copying.

However, make sure you have the Select tool in use (Tools > Select & Zoom > Select Tool). When you move your mouse over text, you should see an I-beam. Click and drag to select the text. Click Edit > Copy or press Ctrl-C to copy the text. Paste it in the desired application.

Question about copying direct from scan to a Word document

Check if your Canon software creates a PDF image. A scanned image is a RASTER image, a series of dots, that 'appear' like text or drawing. You cannot use Ctrl-C or Ctrl-v. If the software creates a PDF file, you can cut & paste. Usr any good OCR (Optical Character recognition) software ad convert the raster image to editable text. Then you can cut & paste.
