The remote is only programmed with only so many codes. Sadly, It doesn't hold all code for every TV made.
But you can try making the remote search every code stored inside to see if one of them will work.
Here are the instructions form the DIRECTV web site:

You may still find a setup code that works for your device by stepping through the library codes in your remote. The following instructions will help you do this.

StepNSet

Set the "Mode Switch" to the desired mode such as TV for a Television.
Press and hold the "Mute" button and the "Select" button until the visible LED blinks twice.
Enter the code "991" followed by the "device number"
1. for Televisions
2. for "AUX 1" devices - VCRs or DVDs
3. for "AUX 2" devices - Audio
You can step through the setup codes for this mode by pressing the "Channel Up" key to go forward through the codes or pressing the "Channel Down" key to go back to the previous codes.
You can try out each code by pressing one or more function keys such as power, volume or digit keys.
When you've found the setup code that works for your device, press the "Select" key.

- 1Remove the battery cover and insert new batteries into the remote. Press the "Power" button on the television to turn it on.
- 2 Press the "PRM" button that is in the lower left corner of the remote control. You should see the signal indicator light come on.
- 3 Click the DTA800 TV Codes link in the resource section to view a list of program codes for the converter box. Enter the 3-digit code for your television by pressing the number keys on the keypad. Press the "OK" button when finished. You should see the indicator light turn off.
- 4 Point the remote at the television and press the volume keys on the remote control. If the volume for the television changes, the remote has been programmed successfully.
- 5 Enter another 3-digit code for your television if the first code fails to program the remote
- CODES : Emerson
  - The RCA Universal Remote has 17 different codes for Emerson televisions. These codes are 011, 026, 027, 028, 029, 030, 031, 032, 037, 042, 053, 064 065, 067, 075, 076 and 079. There are 18 different Emerson VCR codes. These codes are 008, 009, 010, 013, 015, 020, 023, 027, 034, 041, 042, 047, 057, 062, 065, 067, 068 and 070. There are no codes for Emerson cable boxes.

RCA- RCU 500 model universal remote has Sylvania TV coded with. The codes are:

006,007,010,011,013,016,027,
033,035,043,049,066,087,089
Programming method

[1] Press the button of the device you want to

[3] If the device you selected (TV) responds,

There are very rare RCA remotes, with Sylvania TV can be programmed. Just try the above codes with your present RCA remote control. If it does not help, buy the above model RCA universal remote. You will get code list and all other related documents, how to programme it or so, with the device you do purchase. OK.

I see yiu need a code for your JVC TV to program ti the DTA800.

You can try The codes for JVC TV to program universal remote are 159, 013, 012, 182, 054, 060, 065, 066, 067, 123, 157, and 158. You can check these codes one by one.

I have the manual for the RCA TV that the CRK59B came with. The Sylvania VCR program codes are 08, 29. If you're trying to control a Sylvania Cable -TV Box, the code is 11.
