Hi try this.....
Put the system in standby (ie off but plugged
in) then whilst pressing down the record button and the X-BASS/DEMO
button, press the PRESET DOWN (i.e.left hand one) button until "CLEAR
ALL" appears, then power on your system.
This gave me some functionality back i.e. i can play normal wave CD's but not mp3 ones....
Hope this helps

Hi
If the machine cant read the table of contents of a disc this would suggest either the lens of the optical pick up is dirty or the optical pick up has failed completely or something directly relating to the optical pick up i.e the spindle or stepper motor, if you can easily acess the optical lens you maybe able to clean it using a cotton bud and re-test, just try this with a dry contton bud to begin with if this gives an improvement you may wish to use a cotton bud with a alchol cleaner like I.P.A,
make light circular movements over the lens. If this makes no difference the machine requires repairing, so consult a local service engineer.

Hi!
Make sure discs are clean, purchase a lense cleaner to remove any grime or particles from the CD lense. If still no joy your laser is either out of focus, miss-tracked or completely shot and requires replacement. If it's the latter, rplacements can cost from $50 upwards depending upon what is required to fix the problem. You may be wise to replace the system OR purchase a seperate CD player (as used in a seperates system) and plug it into the aux input.
