SOURCE: Microwave oven won't work
If the internal fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body of the oven or veen on the floor of the oven chassis.
Hopefully the vent fan was on strong enough to keep the steam out the of controls. That steam could scramble or damage the circuit board or keypad.
You should unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, then try again.

The cycling of your electricity probably didn't hurt it.
Chances are moisture or grease has gotten into the controls. That can ruin the keypad.
The way to prevent that is to be sure you have the microwave's hood vent exhaust fan running whenever you are cooking on the stove top.
If you (or someone you know) might want to replace the keypad yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.
You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.
There
should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the
control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is
very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.
If you would like to have us do this for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

SOURCE: Power out on Whirlpool over-the-stove microwave
Yes, There are fuses inside the keyboard panel. I would have to take a look at the manual for the specific model you have to identify the easiest way to check the fuse.
Before you go that far check above the hood and see if you can locate the plug end of the microwave. Most installations have a dedicated receptacle above the exhaust vent and microwave. It is usually a space too small for good storage so most housewives store small items and cookbooks in this space. It is usually the culprit for a microwave suddenly going out without someone placing metal inside the oven and heating it.
Heating a metal object or operating a microwave for an extended time will usually blow the fuse.

SOURCE: Microwave has no power
Hi
If your microwave oven doesn't seem to work at all, check these:
Fuses
Usually, when your microwave oven doesn't work it all, the internal fuse (thermal fuse) is blown. This fuse protects both you and the oven. When it blows, you need to have a qualified appliance repair technician replace it.
Door switch
If the fuse isn't the problem, check the door hooks and the door-release button. When these are broken, the door switch doesn't activate, so the oven can't work.
Thanks
Rylee

hi my name is mark, if the display shows close door then the door switch has failed or is stuck. oven will have to be disassembled to find out. if you do, unplug unit first, before removing cover. thanks for your question.
