Window unit haier a/c (sorry, not sure model type, but it has a remote) isn't blowing cold (cool, but not cold) air and it sounds like the motor is just running in a 'fan' capacity. what can i do to get cooler air out of this unit? CAN i add freon?

Sounds like the unit is just dirty. The AC pulls air through coils and contains dirt, pollen, grease and all type of pollutants. These contaminants will cling to the coils, reducing the AC ability to transfer heat.

AC units should be cleaned every year (including the whole house units), to maintain their ability to cool efficiently.

my haier air conditioner won't blow cool air just took it out the window like last 5 months ago it was blowing cool air now i put it back in the window now don't blow cool air just hot air.

Where the unit drains is clogged it sounds like so your fan blade is hitting the water and scooping some of that water indoor. look where the condensate drains and clean that and it should be fine

Sounds like the rear coil may be stopped up with dirt, etc. If it is, the unit will not cool properly. You may just be able to unplug it and wash it out with a hose and sprayer from the back of the unit. If its real dirty, you will have to pull the unit out of the window, take the case off and clean it real good. If you wash it out from the back, be sure you can do it when you can leave the unit off for an hour to dry. Let me know if I can help you any more of if this doesn't work. Stay cool. mark

check the remote control to be on cool and 18 degrees and then check if the outdoor unit works.

It have the same one, but pushing thr power button does work. Are you sure there isn't a blown circuit? Double check your outlet with another device...like a lamp. Sorry I can't help more.

There are three settings. If you have it on FAN, it won't blow cold. The raindrop picture is for dehumidifying, and the snowflake picture is the setting for COLD. If you shut the unit off and on too quickly, it takes a minute or two to cycle back to cool.
* Make sure the 'snowflake' setting/picture is selected...

the unit is blowing cold air then tripping out, is it blowing hot air out the back? im sure you mean exhaust air as in hot air so the reason your unit is tripping out is that its overheating and the pressures in the rerigeration system are to high, so the safety trip cuts the unit off.

First please clean the air filter and ensure that there is no dust settled on the filter which could chock the circulation of air.

To throw cool air the unit got to **** the air from the room and in case the air filter is blocked with dust then there will be no cooling at all.

Please ensure the thermostat knob is turned to the desired cooling level and try running the unit.

Ensure there is no escape route for the cool breeze.

Minimize the frequency of the door or window opening in the area to retain cooling efficiency.

I am sure your unit will work on taking the above precautions before operating it.

well it sounds like the compressor is not turning on. does it have thermostat? if so turn it way down. clean any filters. is it a window unite or portable most of them are too costly to repair unless you do it your self.
