Samsung tv won't turn on

My 40' Samsing LED TV (model UN40EH5000FXZA VERSION HS03) does not turn on. The standby light is also not on. I removed the power board and tested the fuse. The fuse tested fine, and visually, the board and all capacitors look absolutely fine, no bulging or discoloration at all. I'm planning on replacing the board, but I'm curious if there is another common cause for this problem other than a bad power board. Thank you.

1. Measure the stand-By voltage if is there on the power supply, if not replace the power supply.
2. If the stand-by voltage is OK, change the main board.

SOURCE: No longer turns on

It's well worth replacing the capacitors, but this problem can be caused by a short on the power supply (Which is what the caps do). Most shorts that arise in power supplies are result of a shot transistor or diode and of course the electro caps. Check these while your changing the caps.
Good luck with it.

SOURCE: Samsung LN-T2632H won't turn on.

Follow these steps to figure out what problem is.
When you turn on TV, look at the back and see if the back light on. If it is on, the power supply and inverter work fine. The suspection now is main board and T-con board (the small board on the middle-top of the panel)
To find the problem from the main board or not. Look at the power supply and measure Vs on - turn on the TV, this approx 5 vlt DC needs constant once you turn on the TV. If it is drop or unstable - main board problem - replace it.
If Vs on is good - disconnect the T-con cable from the power sup. If power sup stop clicking - T-con need replacing. Hope it help.

SOURCE: Which Replacement Power Board for LNT4665F Samsung LCD TV?

Howdy,
It would be a lot cheaper if you just replace the two caps that have gone bad. Just get a cheap solder pencil from the store and about an inch of solder and you are in business.
The Power Supply Board is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM852 & CM853; 2200ufd 25volts.

Thaks for using FIXYA, BIG IRISH.

In almost all cases where the set is taking a long time to turn on and then turning off it will be the Power Supply board that will have bulging capacitors, usually three to five. Look on the upper right side of the Power Supply and look for any blown caps. You can replace these caps and you will be fine. Now the other cause can be the Power Switch is shorting out. You can disconnect the the Power Switch but not the IR sensor and then turn ON the set with your TV remote and see if this stops the problem. If you are not skilled in component level repair on the Power Supply board then buy a new Power Supply board and install it.

Anyone have troubleshooting info?

Im not an expert by any stretch i have a vizio with the same issue and I have also replaced the powersupply / dc inverter board. I suspect we both need new mainboards. A site named shopjimmy offers many replacement parts at good rates. I am in the process or replacing the Tcon and LED driver boards now (they are much cheaper than the main) if either of those corrects the issue ill post a comment. FYI My problem on the Vizio TV was corrected by replacing the main-board after all.
