Shanling SCD-T200. Although this question has been asked before, not for quite a while. This unit is failing to read some CD's, and some only intermittently. Has a fix been found for this?

That unit is designed to work on Ford vehicles that have a CD button but no CD changer.

That usually happens when you get the reading lense scratched (from inserting dirty cds with dust, grease or finger prints). So, since the cd content cannot be read, it just don't give the command to the chip that converts the input data (whatever the content of the cd) into output data (what you listen or what you see from the cd). This is the case in most CD Players. . .

when you close the lid, it will try to read the CD.
If it recognizes and reads the cd, the cd will spin-up.
If not, it would say no disc.

try to clean the cd-player's lens by using a commercially available lens cleaner. if it still persists, it need a new optical mechanism.
