Our desktop icons may be hidden. To view them, right-click the desktop, select View, and then select Show desktop icons. To add icons to your desktop such as This PC, Recycle Bin and more:

Select the Start button, and then select Settings > Personalization > Themes.
Under Themes > Related Settings, select Desktop icon settings.
Choose the icons you would like to have on your desktop, then select Apply and OK

open the programs drop down by clicking on all programs
find the item you want and click and drag it to desktop screen
if you want other icons for folders , right click on the desktop screen anywhere and click on add folder

hi,
Right-click on Desktop >Click "Change Desktop Icons">Mark or Unmark the postion of Icons or/and "Allow themes change desktop icons". You can mark "View hidden" and in "Program Data" on Drive C: you can make your own NAME FOLDER and put inside ALL ICONS YOU WANT.Your NAME FOLDER & ICONS , you can see now in "Start".Then UMMARK "Hidden" Box.(If you want)

Android operating system allows you to put apps on the desktop, not folders. The only thing that looks like folders is the file explorer icon.

If you want to hide your icons, right click on your desktop(your screen). A window will appear and put your pointer on view. Another window will open and at the bottom you will see "show desktop icons " with a check mark. Click on this and your icons will be hidden. To get them back do it again.

My kids have put a picture on my desktop and i don't have no icons on it I'm trying to get the icons back on my desktop

Move your mouse to the bottom of the screen and right-click once. Then you should have a "Show Desktop" option or un-check the "Hide Desktop icons" Click that and all your icons should re-appear. Unless of course they actually deleted your icons :'

if you are not seeing your icons on your desktop try right clicking your mouse in the middle of the screen a box will open if windows xp just click show desktop or desktop icons,, if vista or 7 right click your mouse a box will open go to view click on show desktop icons ,,good luck I hope this helped

right click anywhere in your desktop and choose the option personalize and choose change desktop icon and then you just have to put a check on the program you wanted to be on your desktop :D

Helo assuming that you are running windows xp. sleect 'start' in the bottom left corner of the screen, then select control panel. then sleect display.

select the desktop tab and click the 'customize desktop' button on the bottom left. select the icons that you want to appear on your desktop.
