SOURCE: Refrigerator is freezing

try cleaning out the coil....if you havent cleaned it dirt will block air flow causing erratic temps in the refrigerator section

The unit is having a damper control issue. In the back of the refrigerator there is an assembly that is in the center at the top. It connects to the freezer side. The damper is broken, cracked or has an obstruction. Check this and see if it is the problem.

SOURCE: I have a ge profile side by side refrigerator.

First thing...Take a good look at all the door seals. If they let air and a lot of moisture in, that can condense and freeze causing your problem.
Second...Manualy defrost your freezer and see if the problem re-occurs. It may be that someone left the door open once and caused the icing.

ready ? Number 1 thermistor is located against the back of a U shaped chanel atop the left side refrig shelf mounting bracket beside the refrig damper . #2 is located 1/2 way down on the refrig right wall with a 2 " oval covering . # 3 you only have if you have a quick chill at the lower right side in refrig section . # 4 is clipped atop of the coils inside the freezer section . # 5 is located slightly foreward of the drain pan inside of a small capsule at the bottom of the freezer section . There is a way to check all thermistors useing the touch control board , but that was not the question you submitted .

It is located in the freezer section, behind the back panels inside, and under the icemaker. Remove the screws on the bottom panel in the freezer, remove the ice maker, auger motor, and panel. is is about center of the freezer.

GE GSH25JSXNSS Freezer door handle is loose How do i tighten it

Most side by side handles slide on and off to be able to go through doors. Try carefully putting a small screwdriver or putty knife behind the handle at the top and separating the handle a bit from the door. It should slide up. you should be ably to thghten the screws to the handle after removing the handle and slide it back on.

Our GE Side by side freezer is no longer dispensing water or ice. It is a model # GSS22IFREBB. Any suggestions? We have tried the suggestions in the owners manual to no avail.

Could be wiring at the bottom of freezer door. Or main board is out. Make sure it's not a child lock first.

GE model GSS22JEPDWW will not dispense water.

You may have a build up of hard water.Try cleaning it with a long q-tip and vinegar,turn it on when you do this .If not then you may have a warn washer.

If you take a look at this diagram, you should be able to see all the inner workings of that area and decide if you want to repair it. I think anyone with the most basic mechanical skills could easily handle this repair. See parts 62,63,67, etc. Could just be the spring is off or broken.
