Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

Green Screen Hello!  Just hooked up via HDMI a brand new PS3 to a month-old Sony Bravia HDTV.  Went through the set up screens, then it downloaded updates, then it displayed a blank, green screen and nothing else will happen.  Re-booted it to no avail.  Also turned TV off and on.  Any ideas?

Hello Everyone. Well we hooked this brand new PS3 up to three different televisions (two Sony HDTVs, one via HDMI cables) and it did the same thing, even on the old box tv using the old component cables.

We took it back to the store and got a new one. Hooked it up via HDMI and it worked perfectly right away and is still working. So I guess the first unit was just defective. However, I did find a few threads on other sites regarding this green screen issue where people were able to mess with their cables and settings and get it to work again. Of course, their PS3 had already worked for some time before they were confronted with the green screen issue...

I just purchased a brand new 32" HDTV LCD flat screen. When I plugged my Cable box's HDTV wires to it, the high def has a green tint to the people's faces, backgrounds, and everything. On normal cable av input it is normal and the picture looks great. It's just when I turn on the HD input on my tv. Help

I have a sony bravia 46'' lcd 2x hdmi tv when I GO THRU MORE THEN ABOUT 10 CHANELS KIND OF QUICKLY the tv goes to a green screen and stays on a green screen until i restart the tv is this norm

I find it unlikely this is normal.

I am not a betting man but..........

What I would do is invest the time to contact Sony customer service and talk to someone who can access their database.

They like other major companies keep extensive records of every complaint recorded---see if anyone else had this issue.

Sony has had some beauties---Recently an issue where heat warps the door made of plastic in front of the lamp resulted not in a free part but free repair and or replacement of the 3-4 year old sets involved.

let me know if you have questions

Screen is all Green

New cable box recently? If not, your cable provider has probably pushed a firmware update to your cable box. Green screens are very common with HDMI connection. From your symptom, I am going to take a guess that you are connected via HDMI. If so, switch to Component cables and your problem is solved. It's not the TVs fault... cable boxes seem to be the single largest problem child for HDMI compatibility. I hope this was of some assistance.

HDTV no over the air signal.

No... Andraade11,

There is nothing exclusive of using a HDMI port...
you can have it all.

You are still able to switch right back to your old configuration...

I believe you merely need to step through your
"SOURCES"

Unless Dish us incredibly behind the curve
they used a HDMI to bring their signal to your set...

and add ($$$) a LOCAL "OPTION" into
their feed... but if you ALREADY had an antenna
hooked up... you should be able to switch right back to that source... or a VIDEO PLAYER obviously IF you have one)

and/or a SECURITY screen
(if you have a compatible camera or server)

Etc. etcetera...

Ps3 won't display on hdtv via dvi

Re-Set the PS-3, by pressing and holding down the power button (front panel) this hard re-sets the unit and yo can then reconfigure via the composite video cable it came with, back to HDMI / DVI

I have looked up the infomation on your TV I noticed that your TV has two HDMI input plugs. Since your SONY BRAVIA is hooked up to one port, you need to buy another HDMI cable for your PS3. On your tv remote you should have an option to switch from video 1 to video 2 so then you can switch from the SONY BRAVIA to the PS3 the problem is you will only hear your PS3 Sound from you TV. If you want to hear your PS3 sound from your SONY BRAVIA you need to buy an optical cable (also called TOSLINK) to connect from your PS3 to the SONY BRAVIA.

Hope that helps!
