SOURCE: Hooking up speakers to amp

YES ! This is usually ok, the speaker cabinet should contain a high pass filter or crossover on the tweeter to decouple it from the low frequency signals. My Linn Index speakers are wired like this.

SOURCE: connecting a car stereo to an amplifier

you have to connect your 4 speakers to 4 speakers output direct to your car stereo no need of amplifier to 4 speaker but speakers should be small not like a woofer, and you have to connect your sub woofer by using amplifier don't connect direct. connect the output of your car stereo (using 2 RCA) to the 2 RCA inputs of amplifier. If u connect your 4 speakers to your amplifier then your car stereo does not support Left Right channel.
You can also connect your laptop or iPod direct to your amplifier.

SOURCE: connect Creative 5.1 A500 speaker system to Phillips DVD 3256

moz-screenshot.jpg 2d65f17.jpg
Just buy two connectors(shown above). Its having two holes upside.
1. Connect the connector to one hole of the other.
2. Connect the audio cable to the dvd.
3. Then connect the connectors to the other side of the audio cable.
4. Lastly, connect the three stereo output cables of the Creative speakers to the three holes of the connector simultaneously.
I have tried this at home with my Creative Inspire M5300 speakers and philips dvd. All the five speakers are working.

You should be using 2 audio jacks. Not one. Its normal if audio is cut from tv speaker when connection is made. Use a 2nd pair of speakers from your stereo if u want additional sound.

Hi i have a older jvc stereo and i have klh audio system model 9706 satellite and i do not know how to do the wiring i can get three spks workig but thats it can u help me do the wireing my jvc has 4 spk...

You can use 4 speakers. Connect 2 speakers to the A system of the JVC and the other 2 to the B system. Then select in JVC the A+B speakers position. As your receiver is stereo, this is the way you could best distribute the sound. However, if you have only 3 speakers, it would be dangerous to try wiring the third one without changing the whole impedance. So you may use 2 speakers.

sounds like you need to surround modes. There is usually a Stereo, Dolby, DTS, "virtual surround", 4-speaker mode etc..
When you play a CD or connect to TV it likely defaults to playing stereo or virtual surround.

With real surround, almost all of the voices are coming from the center-channel speaker (normally placed closest to the TV).

Also, check to make sure the center channel is connected properly.

Emerson dvd player - background sound lauder than dialogue

Greetings surfjax,

If you will allow me to make an assumption, you do not have a 5.1 surround system connected to your DVD player. This is a common experience with users of a standard TV or stereo receiver if a movie is being presented in 5.1.

In a surround sound system the center channel speaker provides almost all the vocal tracks while the side channels will provide music and some background noises. You'll still be able to hear the voices in your side speakers, but it will be muted and over powered by music or sound effects.

Some DVD players allow you to "Downmix" the surround signal to stereo. You might want to look around your sound setup on the DVD player or check your owners manual.

Hope this helps.

Stereo System Doesn't Make Sound

Tell your son not to play with your stereo.
Sorry that was a bit blunt. The Speakers from a bose system generally run at about 4 ohms of resistance, your sherwood amplier is spitting the dummy because it can't handle that sort of a load. get some proper speakers and make sure that they are connected up properly, and that none of the cables are touching.

PC connection

You definitely do. However, I recommend that you hook up your pc line out to the auxiliary input on the Es2. You only need an rca interconnector which has a 3.5 mm male stereo plug (hooks into pc line out jack).
