Question about Braun Health & Beauty

Open Question

Braun 5414 shaver is charged, was working normally, but suddenly stopped. When I turn it on I hear a faint hum, but nothing moves. How difficult or expensive might this be to fix? Thanks.

SOURCE: I need to replace the

You will find compatible battery type at See link below

First, remove foil and cutter. Then remove the swivel frame by removing the two tiny screws. Then pop off the two screw covers on the bottom of the shaver and also the screws underneath. You can then gently pry the two halves of the case apart at the bottom to access the insides.

For easier replacement, it is suggested that you use a modified installation technique. This is to break the tabs off of the old batteries rather than unsoldering them from the circuit board. This allows the old batteries to be removed but leaves the tabs attached to the circuit board. You can then solder the tabs from the new batteries to the old existing tabs

I am searching for the circuit diagram of Braun 5414 Electric Shaver.

The batteries do not get soldered on model 5414 they snap in and out but disassembly is tricky.

How do I open the braun 5414 to change the battery?

there are two round screw covers on the bottom of the shaver. pry them out with th corne of rzor blade or tiny jewelers scredriver. remove screws underneath to seperate front and back and revealinsides.

the battery can be found at

Braun 6520 is not charging after changing the battery board.

there may not be anything wrong with the batteries and circuit board at all. you may have a bad motor

My former razor, Braun 5414 would take 110-240AC as well as 12 DC. Now have Contour 5790, and want to know if itcan also use12 volt DC.

According to the Braun manual for your 5414 Contour, the specs for charging are printed on the electric shaver cord plug. (it's REALLY small print, so I'd get a magnifying lens to look at it!)

There isn't anything in the manual about the multiple voltage for charging the shaver, so I'd have to defer to the Braun (Gillette/Proctor & Gamble) customer service folks to make absolutely certain of what can and can't be used as a charging voltage before trying.

Here's a link to your manual, in case you're missing yours.

You can ALSO reach the Braun Customer Service folks by calling them at 1-800-BRAUN 11 (1-800-272-8611)

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Braun won't charge.

I took the base apart and pressed the contacts out so that they can contact the shaver points easier, now it works like new. Turn the base upside down, press in the two clips and pull the inner portion out of the shell. You can now access the two charging contacts and press them or bend them so that they protrude out further. Make sure you unplug the unit and take out the cleaner cartridge before you flip it upside down too.
