SOURCE: I have an HP desktop computer. I got a usb power overload message and now it won't even boot up. Is there any way to fix it?

What happens when you try to boot up now?
When you plug in the power cord is there any lightswhatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of thepower cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous. Most times the problemis with the memory or Video Card. Count the Blinking Lights or Beeps and takenote of their pattern (1 Long or 1 Long followed by 2 Short).

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you wasoperating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cordis bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the powercord is bad.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove theBattery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the batteryout) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can putthe battery back in and let it charge.Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugsinto the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside thejack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have totake the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto themotherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.Maybe your memory is bad or the memory slot is bad.Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

How to fix error messages samsung tv?

I think you have two errors:
1. New service not found
2. usb power overload.

#2 means that whatever you have plugged in is taking too much power for the tv to run it. Unplug it, and see if things work better.

New device not found usb1 power overload

Dear inVaUSA, I followed your action and contacted 1-800-SAMSUNG but did not fare as well as you did. I was told there is not a firmware update nor a patch to fix the "New Device Not Found USB1 Power Overload" even after I read your post to the support representative I was dealing with. She told me that it is a PlayStation issue even though I have never connected any USB device to any USB Port on my Samsung TV. Could I Please trouble you to send me the firmware update you received from Samsung `in a private message or to my email address if you prefer. Thank you!

Usb surge hub port exceeded

The message indicates that either a device or the USB controller has drawn too much power.Disconnect all external USB devices (make sure that the touchpad is active if you use a mouse with the notebook). Then click on the Restart command on the error message.

Try adding one device at a time and see if the message recurs. Try moving the devices to a powered USB hub and try that at different USB ports. (Disconnect and reset the message if needed.)

You can choose to ignore the message. In XP, click Start > Properties. Select the Taskbar and select customize. Set the Surge message to Ignore.

Since this error most often occurs when the computer is hibernating, go to the Control Panel section for Power Options. Disable the System Standby (set to Never in the Power Scheme Tab) and Hibernate (uncheck in that tab) options. Note: these settings will limit battery run time. (Windows XP didn't handle these well.)

Other solutions that may help is to set the USB controller to USB 1.0 or to disable it. You can disable this from the Device Manager; scroll down to the Universal Serial Bus.

If you have a device that is pulling too much power, you will need to replace it. (That's more cost-effective than repairing the power draw for most USB devices.) It could damage the port.

I hope this helps.

New device not found/ usb2 power overload message on the screen, i unplugged the tv and it does not solve the problem. I have looked at manual but its not answered in troubleshooting.

I called 1-800 SAMSUNG and they had a firmware update that fixed the problem. I don't know if the update is available on their website, as I had downloaded a firmware update 2 days previous and this was a newer version that they sent me via email.

I have installed new cartridges but the status panel keeps telling me to remove and check colour cartridge

Reboot your PC , unplug your power and usb / parallel port and see if this clears the message. Run a "clean cartridge and align paper" also
Did you buy refilled ink cartridges, 'cus if so, this could be the problem,
Sometimes it happens to me also, hwen I buy those refilled cartridges but I just ignore it and it prints, scans and copies, even if that error message is on the front screen.

When I connect the printer I get a hub overload message. I can't reinstall because the computer connect manager doesn't see the printer. It did work until recently

Believe it or not, this problem is actually related to the computer, not the printer.

I can tell by the error message that you are plugged into a USB hub. Unplug it from the hub, then plug it directly into your computer's back USB ports, not the front ones. It will probably work now.

To properly fix the issue, you need to purchase a powered USB hub.

Essentially this happens because the printer is power hungry. Passive USB hubs like the one you have can only provide enough juice that your computer gives it. Since your computer doesn't want to fry out by "overloading" the voltage on the line, it reduces the power and throws that error message.

Now, if you are getting this message on a laptop computer OR you plugged the printer into the back ports and the unit STILL does not work, the printer or USB cable has a short and needs to be replaced.

Good luck. Please rate my response or post a comment on your original question to allow me to further assist you.

Any hdmi channels i turn on cause an overload message on the receiver and it shuts down. How do i fix this

Check the surround setting you may have these HDMI channels set on. Try changing the audio setting to STEREO to see if you still get the OVERLOAD message. If it helps you may have faulty wiring on your surround speakers. This would explain why it was only happening on your HDMI settings.

After checking your wiring and not finding any problems you will have to narrow it down to the source of the problem. Disconnect your center channel and retry the surround mode and see if you get the OVERLOAD.

Once you find the problematic speaker you may need to replace it. Unfortunately it could be possible the speakers are unable to handle the power being provided by the receiver and may be sending feedback to the unit causing it to overload.
