SOURCE: Freezer/refrigerator compressor running constantly

th ebi-metal is a thermostat which shuts the defrost heater on/off, but doesnt actually put the unit into defrost. if it were bad the defrost heater would never go on resulting in massive build up of ice on back wall of freezer, and noticable refrigeration sect. cooling.. dont know how you know the compressor never shuts down, but if that the case perhaps you have a sealed system/ freon issue. try removing the back panel of freezer section and check the evaporator coil. you shuld have an even frost pattern over the entire evap coil. if theres just frost over the top 1or 2 coils, and the rest of coil is shiny aluminum , thats an indication of a sealed system issue.( 5 year part warr by manufacture) def not a do it yourself issue...but that would,, depending on extent of restriction/loss of freon,, cause freezer to freeze and defrost eratically, and the compressor would be running constantly trying to achieve a good stable temp

SOURCE: Refrigerator does not cool

If the refrigerator cooling is poor, it may be a problem with the thermostat, the compressor, or the evaporator fan. If ice is accumulating at the back of the fridge, that can also be a reason for poor cooling.

See aso the links below for a more detailed explanation:

It's not cool

SOURCE: evaporator coil freezing, replaced main control

It is possible you have a defective fan motor in the condenser area or evaporator area. Sometimes when they become defective they will run for a while and just warm up and stop while the compressor continues to run. I learned that one on four costly returns to the home. The cost was to me not the customer. Thanks, Sea Breeze

I have toshiba refrigerator inverter GR-A525ABEZ not working and lamp also, only Eco mode light blinking

If your Toshiba refrigerator inverter GR-A525ABEZ is not working and only the Eco mode light is blinking, there may be a problem with the fridge's compressor or control board. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

Check the power supply: Ensure that the refrigerator is properly plugged in and that the power outlet is working. Try plugging in another appliance to the same outlet to confirm that there is power.

Check the control board: The control board manages the refrigerator's functions and may be malfunctioning. Unplug the refrigerator and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in. If the Eco mode light continues to blink, the control board may need to be replaced.

Check the compressor: The compressor is responsible for cooling the refrigerator and may be damaged or malfunctioning. If the compressor is not working, it will need to be replaced by a qualified technician.

Check the lamp: The lamp may have burned out and need to be replaced. This can be done by removing the old lamp and replacing it with a new one.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's best to contact a qualified technician for further diagnosis and repair.

I have replaced a defrost heater #AH1993872 in my refrigerator Kenmore side by side, model # 363.50232000, S/N 04727723. I would like to check, wheather the defrost heater works properly. What is the...

The defrost time is about 30-45 minutes. This does not mean that the heater is turned on for the full defrost time. It turns on until the defrost thermostat senses the temperature is at 40 deg F then it cuts the power to the heater. Then after the defrost cycle time is over, the compressor is then powered to continue the cooling cycle.

To test, locate the defrost timer. It looks something like this,

slamfix_39.jpg It can either be found in the temperature control box in the refrigerator compartment, or located somewhere near the compressor. When you find it, look for a round cam on the side. Using a flat screwdriver, turn it until it clicks. With the fridge plugged in, the compressor should be off and the defrost heaters should be warming up. You should either hear the ice crackling and melting and see the water flow down the drain tube to the pan below the refrigerator. After about 45 minutes, the compressor should turn on. Hope this helps you.

Freezer works, refrigerator doesn't, motor is making an odd noise

frost free refrigerators consists of -
1)Heater
2)Thermostat(bimetal)
3)timer

heater and bimetal are in freezer section. First check heater. Give it direct power supply. If it heats up,its OK. Then check bimetal. Immerse it in Ice. check continuity using a continuity tester. If its showing continuity its OK too.

change timer if both heater and bimetal are OK.
