I am a semi-proffessional photographer and have been using the C480 with great success over the past few years. I was using it yesterday and everything was fine but when I went to use it today it would not switch on. I put new batteries in and checked that they were in the right way but still it wouldn't swith on. Can you give me some possible answers please.

Many people wonder how rangefinder can be of some help to photography. Like many, we used to wonder too until the first time we started using rangefinders a few years ago. After several years of experiencing doing the both, hunting and shooting.
The following reasons showing how you can become a street photographer using a rangefinder over time.
I would just connect it and see if Windows detects it. It may just work. I do not see a model C480 on the HP support site. Do not attempt to use the software that came with the printer.
i used d3100 a few months ago, for your information this camera only support autofocus with built-in motor lenses if you have interest on wildlife, you should use tele-lens whose focal length above 200mm if Nikon lenses cost you too much, you can choose other lenses from Tamron, Tokina, or Sigma
for family photograph, the kit lens is able to do this (18 - 55mm), for natural beauty, i myself use nikkor 50mm/f 1,8 which has great power in low light condition
I recommend that you download Driver Robot from www.driverrobot.com. This great program finds the drivers for you. I have been using this for the past few months successfully in my computer service business (the version I downloaded from the site had a one year free license).
mine does the same thing and is new. you should be fine with what you have for a while, unless you just want to replace the battery, the battery goes bad after a few years, thats what I have heard anyway.
