I purchased a HXSJ Webcam 480P HD Web Cam. OS is Windows 7-won't work. Successfully installed software. The device manager says it's working--no camera or sound. Is my OP system too old (Windows 7 pro)

No! Actually Windows 7 Pro is VERY stable and a REAL workhorse AND performer!... Who needs a pig 8 or 10 that STILL is not working right?!

Ahough your HXSJ camera appears to be a nice one, it's only 480p ~ and there is not much "HD" to that! I would NEVERtrade my working Windows 7 Pro to get any 480p camera working!

Instead, cameras are SO reasonable today... get one that IS 'plug and play' and is compatible with Win 7!

Shucks, check out this AMAZING camera:

"USB 50MP HD Webcam Web Cam Camera for Computer PC Laptop" For under $5 SHIPPED!

eBay:

{Maximum static pixel: 50.0M pixels (2560x1920, 2848x2800, 3648x2736, 4000x3000, 6000x8000) (with software boost/ upscaling)}

No! Actually Windows 7 Pro is VERY stable! Windows 7 is a REAL workhorse AND performer!... Who needs a pig 8 or 10 that STILL is not working right?! And honestly, why didn't Microsoft make Windows 7 even BETTER?

No, instead they saddled and crippled supposed 'upgraded' Windows unsuspecting victims into very restrictive operating systems in 8 and 10! But I digress...

Whoops! I was so excited about this camera that I bought the last one ~ sorry ~ but YOU get the picture (no pun intended). GREAT high-res USB cameras for very reasonable money!

So OK... just go to eBay and SEARCH for these words:

USB 50MP HD Webcam Web Cam Camera for Computer PC Laptop

(and you will find many cameras just like mine)...

Here is part of what FORBES says: "Do photographers really need 50 million pixels of resolution? And more crucially, can current 35mm lenses even resolve that much detail in the first place..."

DANG! All this for ONE crummy point. Arggggg

Why are you trying to sell us another camera we need help getting this piece of junk working HXSJ 480P Webcam drivers

    Mike,

There is a 'tradeoff' here. The amount of time and cost to install a whole new operating system
and you STILL end up with a 480P camera!

Vs. the cost of $5 for a NEW and MUCH HIGHER RESOLUTION camera that is "Plug n' Play??

All WITHOUT spending hours installing a new operating system and hunting down drivers to make things work again?! Do the math ma' man!

That would be well WORTH FIVE dollars to me.

I also want to add those eBay 1080P Cameras are NOT mine... I was just offering a little help.

    Anthony

Recheck that the driver is compatible with win 7 by down loading the driver from the manufacturers web page for win 7
Win 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft so all sorts of problems are starting to appear as that OS slowly crashes

SOURCE: Driver for Flatbedscanner22 for OS windows 7

About Agfa Snapscan E25:
Agfa discontinued its DTP scanner product line (SnapScan, DuoScan, Horizon and Arcus range) and digital cameras (ePhoto, ActionCam, StudioCam) at the end of 2001. At this page is the link for downloading the last valid drivers for your scanner, supporting up to winXP. Try, if you are lucky it may work with Win7
About Acer Aspire 3050:
This laptop has no drivers for Win7 (that's what acer says, not me). Here is the last driver for your camera supporting up to Vista.
In my opinion try the latest drivers that I send you, since there is nothing to loose.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post.

Thanks and regards

Windows 7 won't identify my webcam.

Try running it in Compatibility Mode before you abandon it
Download a version for an OS you used before
When installed right-click on the webcam icon on your desktop and select 'Properties'
Click the 'Compatibility' tab and select the OS you used successfully before
Click OK
By trial and error you may have to check other boxes in 'Settings'
Start with 'Visual Themes'

Any feedback appreciated

Download the software that worked with your previous OS
Right click on the webcam icon and click 'Properties'
Click the Compatibility tab
Check the box to run in CM and enter the OS in the dropbox
Click Apply and OK
You may need to check additional boxes under 'Settings' but that will be trial and error
Any feedback will be useful.
