The most important thing about the babylock serger is to NOT let them sit without use for more than a month. My Baby Lock Evolve BLE8 sat in a closet for several years as I had stopped sewing. The machine seized and locked-up completely. The dealer tech is now having to soak many of the parts in oil to bring this machine back to life. He told me the worst thing one can do is not run the serger--even if you have no needles or thread in the machine, turn it on and run the machine for 10 minutes, to keep the serger in good condition, at least once a month, if you're not sewing. Do not let these machines sit unused.

That depends on the model. The Babylock Triumph (BLETS8) does not get oiled by the user. However, the Babylock Diana (BL480A) needs to be oiled at 4 different points. See the picture on page 63 (page 64 of the PDF) of the manual. Babylock has the manual here: https://babylock.com/resources/5148/download . Current Babylock sewing machine and serger model manuals are available here: https://babylock.com/support/machine-support .

Please add a comment with your serger model. I'll try to find the oiling diagram, if the machine needs regular lubrication. Do not oil any sewing/serger machine unless the manual recommends that as part of the maintenance of the machine. Some Babylock sewing machine dealers will provide you with the manual, if it is available for a small fee. The Babylock serger that I have access to didn't come with a manual. However, we were able to get one from the dealer.

I hope this helps.

Make sure that the presser foot dial (the silver "knob") on top of the machine is not too loose. You can adjust this w/ a nickel; tighten it all the way down & then loosen about 4 full rotations for cotton fabrics. Also make sure the Differentail feed lever is on "N". You can order a book from your local Baby Lock dealership for all models. Good Luck.

How to set up baby lock protefe

Do you mean the BabyLock Protege Serger? Apparently the BabyLock BL402 (Protege) was also sold as the Riccar 739DE. Manuals Lib has the Riccar manual here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/545656/Riccar-739de-Serger.html . You will need to complete a Captcha if you want to download the manual as a PDF.

I hope this helps. You can also find YouTube videos on using several BabyLock sergers. These may help you set up the serger.

Where can I find a manual for my Babylock Special Edition Serger bls200?

Several of these sewing machines for sale on ebay.com and you might contact a seller to offer to purchase a copy of an instruction booklet they list.

Other copies of the manual are no longer available for sale on a web site that listed parts for that model.

I bought a second hand babylock eclipse serger, the pproblem is the width sticth adjusment is stack, how do I slove it.

Just guessing the machine may need cleaning and oiling. Consult the owner's manual. Sergers usually require frequent oiling (more than sewing machines) because of the speed and complexity of moving parts in a serger. Apply 1-2 drops of fresh, good quality oil for your machine--some brands use a specific weight oil.

If in doubt, take it for service. It could probably use a very good check-up by a professional anyway. At least then you will be starting out with a tuned up, working machine.

cleaning your serger (avoid using compressed air as sometimes it will force lint and debris farther into the machine!)

Since your issue is with the stitch width function, you may want to focus more on that mechanism and work at getting it released. Sometimes applying heated air from a handheld hairdryer will loosen stuck mechanisms.

Brother 1034d serger. Seems unusually noisy (mechanically) in needle/cutter area. Not motor or belt as noise is metal parts clacking even after new needles, cleaning, oiling. Is this sound normal for...

in response to all serger, no, after my babylock serger is cleaned and serviced it runs quietly.
as for the brother, it's possible thats normal, try contacting a repair shop in your area and tell them about the serger and see what they say.
it's possible that the serger may need some type of adjustment
or a part may have broken .
