Maybe the camera needs a reset or the memory card needs re-formatting.

SOURCE: problem with playing movies on my element GC-1020 model mp3 playe
when you put the mini-disk that came with your player into your PC, install the AVIconverter and it will allow you to convert certain video files into the ".avi" format, enabling you to watch videos that would otherwise be unplayable on it. there should be directions for this process in your users manual.

sony usually comes along with the mp4 converter utility in a CD along with the player. Use this to convert the computer formated mp4 to your player compatible mp4.
Let us know the result

SOURCE: Error message when loading videos to my Sony NWZ-E438F
I got the same message when I created .mp4 files using the AVC profile "Main" in my video software.
When I changed to "Baseline" then the problem went away. Of course, it also had to follow all the more obvious restrictions for this device: max resolution 320x240, max 30fps, max bitrate (of 512kbbs? or is it 768?) and AAC audio.

SOURCE: Cannot Play .wmv file with WMA 9.2 and WMV 9 professional codecs
Have had same happen. Try clicking right and choosing open with....and choose windows Media player for list. Don't know why this is the part that works for me. double clicking the file has never worked for me. I get the wmp with the same error but when I select the wmp and let IT open the file....it works....I think it is magic and a stubborn way to do this but it works

SOURCE: can't import vob files into windows movie maker
To use Vob files with movie maker, they need to be converted first. This can take a little while, but there is no other way, as windows doesn support dvd playback by default, and whilst codecs will give you playback, movie maker will not accept them, even with the codecs. To convert your vob files to "avi" (the format needed for movie maker) yoou will need converting software. Most of this is very expensive, but thankfully, one of the best is actually free! It's name is "super" and it can be found at the following web address http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html
By the way, the download link is at the bottom of the page.
Wish you the best of luck,
