I need Firmware upgrade file of Samsung SCX4521fx printer

This error code indicates that the printer and your computer are not communicating properly. Recommend uninstalling the printer drivers from your computer.

Download the proper software/drivers for your computer operating system and reinstall the drivers. Drivers are available here. Samsung M2835DW Driver

Unfortunately, once you install a firmware upgrade it is permanent. Driver updates can be reversed but not firmware. That is why you should always have a definite reason for upgrading the firmware.

FLASH UPGRADE There are methods to update the Flash. (1) Local Machine • RCP (Remote Control Panel) mode This method is for Parallel Port or USB Port. Connect the PC and activate the RCP (Remote Control Panel) to upgrade the Firmware. < Method > How to Update Firmware using RCP 1. Connect PC and Printer with a Parallel Cable or a USB Cable. 2. Run the RCP utility and select Firmware Update. 3. Search for the Firmware file to be used to update the set using the Browse Icon. 4. Click the Update icon. The firmware file is transmitted to the Printer automatically and the printer is initialized when the download completes. 5. Click the Refresh icon and check that the updated version numbers are displayed.

Caution: Samsung is not responsable for problems during the firmware upgrade.
When you encounter problems during the upgrade, please contact a Samsung Service Center.
If your drive is still in warranty please contact your retailer first. When you upgrade your firmware, please check the "Buyer" on your label of drive.
If you upgrade wrong firmware, you will have a problem in operating.

I had the same exact problem and thought the ROM was broke but it still played CD's. It's funny because when the problem started I thought I had really messed something up, and it turns out there are massive forums like these for the exact same problems. I hope I can ease a few minds w/ this. I'm running Windows XP, 1G ram, 100GHD.

A firmware upgrade may solve the issue. To upgrade firmware follow these steps:

1. Download the firmware file from the Samsung Download Center by clicking here.
2. Remember to save the file to your desktop or documents.
3. Uncompress the downloaded file in a folder (use winrar or winzip). DATA file will be displayed.
4. Connect the player to your PC with the USB cable.
5. Right click on the Start button, and then left click Explore to open Windows Explorer on your PC. [Samsung YP-Z5] is displayed in Windows Explorer.
6. Select the uncompressed files and drag-and-drop it into the Samsung YP-Z5 Data folder.
7. Disconnect the YP-Z5 from your PC. After disconnecting the USB Cable, the upgrade screen appears.
8. Select [Upgrade] to upgrade firmware.

Try it and see.

You would have to download the firmware first on your PC and transfer the firmware file to a USB Drive and connect the USB Drive to the Wiselink USB slot behind your Samsung TV upgrade the firmware

There are two different print engines used in the CLP-300. One for 2006, and a different one starting in 2007. I have the older 2006 printer, and the current firmware is only for the new 2007+ print engine.

I talked to Samsung support here in Korea and fixed the problem. They sent me to their special tech support website at www.1479.co.kr (only in Korean) and I was able to download an older version of the firmware which restored my printing ability.

The latest version of firmware that worked with my printer was found in this post: http://www.bassmania.co.kr

Download the two files at the top, then extract the archive. Drag-n-drop the correct firmware file onto "usblist2.exe" and the printer will be flashed with the firmware (must be connected via USB if you're using the CLP-300N model).

There is an update for your printer. This is a firmware update. A firmware update, rewrites code located on the printer's main system board. The latest update is dated 10/17/08.

Flashing firmware does not have a go back element or undo, so it is really important that we verify your model and what seiries of printer you have. I suspect you have a CLP-300 Series printer and that the 310 of the 300 just describes some features added or left off and even who you purchased it from, in many cases.

Please look at these two photos and then post the data off the name plate for your model number in particular.



You will notice there are two lines to include in your reply.
1.) The Model: (first line)
2.) M/C entry (second to last entry in this photo of the label.

Once you verify this and I post the firmware update link for you, you will need to follow the instructions I include below.

Samsung has released a new Software upgrade file for print quality, automatic error recovery, and toner save mode on color laser printers.

Procedure to Set-up Download Mode on Your Printer - CLP-300 series
Turn power off.
While holding down the ‘STOP’ button on the Printer, turn the Printer back on.
Keep holding down the ‘STOP’ button until all the LEDs turn orange.
Then release the ‘STOP’ button, and press it again, one more time.

Please make sure to check the printer model number before performing the firmware upgrade.

After firmware upgrade is completed, green LED lights will light up.
Do not turn off the printer before green LED lights turns on. A power interruption will corrupt the process.
If the printer is connected by a USB cable, disconnect all other USB devices, except your keyboard & mouse, from the computer.
If possible, be certain the Printer is connected to a BackUPS

Firmware Update Confirmation Instruction
Model CLP-300 series
When firmware upgrade is started, status LED light will start blinking.
As the printer reinitializes, status LED light will automatically turn off and then on.
Firmware upgrade is complete when status LED stays on green.

After firmware upgrade is completed, the LCD will display the message ‘Ready Copy’ and the LEDs will stay on green.

4. If there is an Error after firmware upgrade
If LED is on red or blinking after firmware upgrade, set-up download mode again and re-try the firmware upgrade.

Look in Prog Files/Samsung/Samsung Media Studio/temp2/firmware - the cab file contains the upgrade files. Copy then across to the T10.

Unplug the T10 and switch back on, it should update the firmware. Switch it back on each time it switches off until the update is complete.
