most manufacturers do have checking mechanism to find genuinity of toners. but 3rd party toners wouldn't be in the market if there was no way to use them. try the original toner and check whether the same error code is displayed for it also, then try using the case/cover of the original toner if u can fix it on this new one, i have tried it and it worked for me(but for different model and company)

If you get the "invalid cartridge" message, try completely turning off and unplugging the unit. Then remove the cartridge, close the door and after at least 30 seconds, restart the unit. Then reinstall the cartridge. This worked for me!
