Hi' As you are facing the ASUS A8N-SLI mother board check the light blue colored socket on your left side below , then look at it and you can see a guide when you insert the wire which you mean they where to be connected , Note there is also color codes on its printed board as guide for wire color coding .
Here is the manual for your motherboard (since describing a diagram probably isn't very useful...) http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket939/A8N-SLI/e2024_a8n-sli.pdf
You want to look at pages 27-35, they describe what you need to plug into the motherboard. Basically make sure you have connected:
1) 24-pin power cable (from power supply) 2) 4-pin power cable (for CPU from power supply) 3) Any case fans with 3/4 pin connectors. 3) hard drives (SATA or IDE) 4) USB front panel ports 5) Audio front panel ports 6) Case plugs (power LED, hdd LED, power switch, and reset switch).
You can research *********** board and drivers at ASUS.com.
You may find a new BIOS update which controls the fan speeds and temp.
If not, you can find plenty of frreware which will handle *********** board.

If your CPU or memory were an issue your Asus board would sound off with BIOS beeps. Asus uses the Award BIOS & you can see what these beeps mean at the link below. Regaurding your PC not able to boot is an issue with your PCIE/PEG video card-in relationship with BIOS setting & the SLI switch card mode that came with your board. When running 1PEG video card you must set this in the BIOS to Auto & you need your SLI switch card connected in its slot. By default, the EZ Selector card is set for a single graphic card. When you install dual PCIE graphic cards on A8N-SLI series motherboards, please make sure EZ Selector card set to the Dual Video Card side and properly inserted.
