I have a 1996 Buick Regal Custom with 3.8L engine. The serpentine belt keeps falling off and now the belt doesn't fit.

The tensioner should adjust and take the correct belt and tension it correctly. The reasons for belts coming off and worn / loose belt, wrong belt, tensioner not working, or incorrect belt alignment.

How do i change supercharger belt on 97 regal

Get a sheet of paper do a line drawing of all the pulleys in the positions they are on the engine then visually note the run of the belt and join the pulleys on your paper with lines to each one before you remove the belt. Then you will possibly that one of the pulleys is an automatic tensioner, you may require a spanner to to move this to unlaod the tension from the belt so you can then remove it. Hope this helps you on your quest.

Just replaced the supercharger belt I am trying to release the tension to get it around the supercharger pulley. How do I release the tension of the belt?

There are 2 sepentine belts on your vehicle. You must use a wrench to turn the belt tensioners. Usually a breaker-bar works well.

The tensioner for the outer belt is below the power steering pump and is easier to get to with the vehicle jacked up and the wheel and plastic splash-shield removed. The tensioner for the inner belt (the one for the supercharger) is located between the alternator and the supercharger. (see picture)

I want to know is it necessary to havena

yes. it is part of the intake system and the computer relies on the air that is being forced into it. the 3.8 is a great engine and you have a one of a kind. or one of few. but the engine is built with less compression to accommodate the supercharger. to run without it in the long run will cause major problems.

It's probably an alternator, or an alternator fuse.

Buick Regal Gs supercharger nose assembly please help if you can

the 3.8" supercharger (belt) pulley? You need a special tool as they are press fit.
www.intence-racing.com and www.3800performance.com

both carry it and offer the tool for rent as well.

Much of the noise comes from the coupler, however there are case (needle) bearings as well that wear, Those are much more difficult to replace.
