I have been with this site since the beginning and would say that heavy equipment is a little used section and as far as I know we have no experts in it. Google is showing me videos, but if I was crafting the search query properly it would be a little more specific, 'ford model backhoe timing (of what part, injection, valves, hydraulics etc?).

Click on the link, I can only talk to you in automotive terms. I know nothing about a backhoe. The sending unit has to have voltage, correct? Get a resistor for empty and one for full, If the gage acts proper to the resistors, the problem is the sending unit.

Hi Bill:
I'd check with my local Case dealer. We have several pieces of Case equipment with hydostatic drives.
If I remember correctly, high gear on a standard transmission is a 1:1 ratio in that the power is on a straight through shaft.
My suspicion would be that a shifter link ay have become dis-connected.

there will be small seals or "O" rings in the pump shaft cover. Manual details will be on the net but best if you have a case technician repair it as it will be done quickly and properly.
