Ice machine I turned off water flow to the ice machine while on vacation. Upon returning and turning the water back on, the ice machince does not function. I do get water throught the door dispensor but no water flows into the ice making tray area.

It turns out that ice had formed in the discharge hose into the ice machine. It was visible with a flashlight. A blow dry supplied enough heat to thaw the ice. I then manually filled the tray and when it dumped a little while longer, the machine fill on its own and everything is running fine.

More than likely the problem lies with the water valve. You have a double water valve on side/side and one of the solenoids are probably sticking. You may get it to start again by taking it apart ,cleaning or you may need a new water valve altogether. Hope this helps

Ice maker has quit working

Sounds like the water port to the ice maker is frozen. Do a complete defrost - shut off power for at least a day or more then turn back on and see what happens.

Not building pressue

Water damage to the flow meter can cause the machine to not function at all. We have seen water leaking from the water tank leaks right on the flow meter and stops the machine from heating and contining its start up proceedure.

Ice maker not working

I am so sorry, but I believe that you are going to need a service call. It doesn't look like it is as simple as turning the water off for vacation. (Seems like nothing ever is!?)Take a look at this page

http://whirlpool.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/whirlpool.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1171&p_created=1181072131&p_sid=GeUY8_bj&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MzQsMzQmcF9wcm9kcz0yNjkmcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PTEuMjY5JnBfY3Y9JnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9aG93IHRvIHJlc3RhcnQgYWZ0ZXIgdmFjYXRpb24gd2F0ZXIgdHVybmVkIG9mZg**&p_li=&p_topview=1

And take a look on the site for the Customer Support option and you will be able to locate a service person near you. Good luck to you. and thank You for using FixYA!

Icemaker

Check the power conection to the ice maker. If that's ok, then I would think the solenoid that controls the water flow has gone bad. Unfortunately, you will likely have to replace the whole ice maker, I don't think they are reparable.
