Spotbot puts out solution and scrubs but doesn't pick up a drop. Worked fine last time I used it but no luck now. Any ideas?

My Bissell Spotbot Pet cleaner stopped working. Took it out of the closet, plugged it in, No power? It worked great the last time it was used.

Well, if cycling it manually doesn't work and replacing the controller board didn't make a difference did you check the flex hose sensor? Bots won't run unless everything is clicked into place.

"Testimonials" don't continue the thread :)

I managed to dig up a copy of the service guide since I haven't owned a spotbot in years. http://evacuumstore.com/images/spotbot-repair-guide.pdf

The top of my Spotbot separates from the bottom when picked up

There are a few screws that hold the two parts together. Check the housing and see if cracked around those screws.

When plugged in the hose light blinks

My spotbot lights would blink and it, for a time, only worked on deep clean even after unplugging and plugging back in. Finally it wouldn't work at all, only the hose light would blink. I unplugged the hose and plugged it back in and the machine started working as it should.

Solution not coming out

The solution is to throw the piece of junk out! Last week my BISSEL upright rug shampooer stopped spraying and I did all the *fixes* that I could find on the internet, short of new parts. It's in the Trash now. Today my BISSEL SpotBot stopped spraying...I've used it maybe 10 times. BISSEL makes junk, IMO.

Leaking rusty water

Ensure the black "duckbill" gasket is mounted on the bottom of the dirty water tank. This gasket is removeable, and resembles a duck bill.

When i purchased mine at Target, new - it was missing the gasket, causing loss of suction. Interestingly it worked for a week or 2 then started leaking. Now, with the gasket in place, it works like a charm.

Gasket is about 2 bucks available from Bissell.

SpotBot: Brushed do not rotate

I had the same problem everything worked except the brushes wouldn't move. I took the top off and tested the leads to the motor and it wasn't getting any power. So I took the power board out and traced it to a large ceramic 5 watt 1.5 ohm resistor right in the middle of the board. I got a replacement resistor from a local electronic store and soldered it in. So for less than a dollar its working perfectly again. Also I put some electical tape over the speaker to quiet it down. It seems funny to have a very very loud beep to tell you when a very loud machine is done.
