SOURCE: verticle lines

You should connect your TV to an Active DtH Connection or a Live TV Cable or even to a working DVD/VCD Player etc. and tune it to the frequency of the same and it should start working. If it doesn't, please contact Service Center.

Press the Menu Key on your remote. If your menu shows clearly on the screen, then there is a problem with your source.

SOURCE: We have an LG 52 inch screen which now has a black line

G'Day!

There is a circuit board that needs to be fixed or replaced inside the TV. This isn't something you'd want to try unless you have that type of experience. A local TV repair shop will be able to get the service manual and determine exactly which board is causing the problem. As long as the part needed for the repair is still available from the manufacturer, you won't have any problems other than having to pay for the repair out of pocket if you didn't purchase an extended warranty.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please post a comment if you need further assistance so that I can help you further.

SOURCE: i have a thin green verticle line on my LG flat

I'm afraid not, this will be a defect within the screen & the only remedy is to have the screen replaced.

LG plasma 50 inch tv with a fine vertical black line in the center of the screen that runs from the top of the screen to the bottom

Try changing the input device to something you are sure works. Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

LG 50PK550 Plasma Single Thin Green Vertical Line

It is going to be one of two basic issues:

1. There is a poor connection somewhere in the set--either with a plug or cable or on one of the boards.

2. There is a board that is beginning to fail causing this.

Either would require a shop and may or may not be worth the cause.

Having seen hundreds of these sets all are more prone to flaky problems than the older sets and average life span is 3-5 years.

Shop I work for 80% of them are 2 years old or less.

If problem began shortly after set was moved or relocated I would lean towards a bad connection somewhere.

I can't get rid of the captions on the 50 inch LG TV

My Lg was doing the same thing. Every movie we watched had subtitles running at the bottom of the screen. The button was at the bottom of the remote. Once we pressed it, it came up on the screen saying CC/OFF. Also had this happen on same TV with DVD player and had to turn it off with the DVD remote. Subtitles OFF/ON

I have a Sony KDFE50A10 50 inch HDTV When I turn it on for it has the lines verticle on it it takes a few minutes and then clears...tv or cable?

Hi,if its a an LCD RPTV it sounds like a light engine problem.Basically your tv uses 3 LCD chips that create the image .Each chip is like a tiny screen that blend together to get the colors and picture right. They are green, red and blue. When they start to fail you will start to get color discoloration or vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine.God bless you!

We have a vertical green line on the right side of our screen. We can get rid of it by moving the picture over but then it is off center.

any verticle bar which is blue, red green about an inch wide can be fixed by replacing a control board in the set. Board number 6871QCH038C. Can be ordered through Parts Store.com for about 112.00....easy to install yourself, located behind two larger boards which are ribboned together. Takes about an hour.

Verticle lines on screen

This is a very easy fix. Your cable box is not grounded correctly. To fix this you need a AC Plug adapter. This will change your TV ac plug from a 3 wire to a 2 wire. This may sound funny, but trust me on this. I have fix a lot of TV in NY doing just this.24001fc.jpg
