SOURCE: PC TV PCI Internal Card w/ Phillips SAA7130 PCI TV Card

You don't need to do anything with the modem at all, other than remove it. Uninstalling the modem drivers will not affect theTV Tuner. Removing the card will disable the feature automatically, so dont worry about that. As far as the TV tuner is concerned, just pop it in, and install the software. If the software is giving you troubles, try going to manufacturer's website and search for drivers.

Are any of the references on this Yahoo Search Web Search page any good ? Drivers are available for this card, but you don't say what 'software' you want.
It may be that your card is not able to function under Win 7. Some older devices are not supported (like my modem for example - I had to get a new one); I don't know if this the case for your tuner card.

Installing 5.1 channel pci sound card

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/opgx260/en/sm/index.htm

Computer Cover

Depending on what model you have, you may have 1 PCI expansion slot, or up to 4 PCI expansion slots.

Small Form Factor computer (SFF) = 1 PCI slot
Small Desktop computer = 2 PCI slots
Small Mini-Tower computer = 4 PCI slots

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/opgx260/en/ug/specs.htm

You need an open available PCI slot, and may not have one with the Small Form Factor computer, or Small Desktop computer.

2) The Sound Card needs to be a Low Profile one.
Maximum size depends on what model it is.

3) Computer on, and Windows running, install the sound card's Installation Disk (CD) in the optical drive of the computer, and load the software.

After the drivers, and if you also chose the effects manager, are installed; close all windows, and go back to your desktop screen.
Turn your computer off normally.

{Your computer will not use the sound card drivers, until the Sound Card is physically installed }

4) FOLLOW Anti-Static Precautions, with your Unplugged from power computer, and open the computer case.

Anti-Static Precautions:
Your body carries Static electricity. Static WILL fry out (Short Circuit), the delicate hardware components inside a computer.

Relieve your body of Static BEFORE working on your computer.

Computer on a table, computer unplugged from power, computer case open;
TOUCH an unpainted surface, of the metal frame of the open computer case.
This action will relieve your body of Static.

IF you leave your computer in the middle of working on it, be SURE to Touch the metal frame again upon your return.

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/opgx260/en/sm/cover.htm#1099393

5) Physically install the Sound Card.

Find an open PCI slot, and remove the expansion slot cover from the metal frame of the computer case, that matches up to this PCI slot.
(Note the PCI slot will not be directly in line, with the expansion slot cover. It is 'one over' )

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/opgx260/en/sm/cards.htm#1104768

6) Attach your audio cables to the Sound Card. Plug the computer into power. WAIT 1 minute, turn the computer on.

Go to the system task bar at the bottom of the desktop screen, and click on the Volume icon. (Looks like a speaker)
Set the Volume where you wish.
(Also you may want to Right-click on the Volume icon, and make sure your audio { Sound }, is Enabled )

If you do not have the Installation Disk with the needed software on it, go to the Sound Card's support website, and download the software.
Post the manufacturer name of the Sound Card, and it's model number, and I'll guide you with the above.

For additional questions post in a Comment.

Dell optiplex 780 wirless card (2.4/5 GHz Wireless 1505 PCI Express) I want to install it. Does it need any parts extra to install on it? & what I should connect to its socket?

Hi moh f2007...

The pci wireless card will work in your computer, just plug it in..and turn it on...
If it came with a cd install it first before plugging the card into the alloted slot.
After installation of the CD then you will:
Shut the computer off.
Install the card:
Open up the machine, look towards the back of the machine and you will see metal covers that can be removed and replace with different cards, pick the right slot that the PCI card will go into and remove that blank cover and install the wireless card into that slot.
Turn the computer on and clear any boxes or windows that might open
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

Hello, everyone!! i have lenovo ideapad y560 with inbuild tv tuner & also a connector wire to connect dish cable to laptop... but my question is that how do i watch tv on my laptop OR in which...

Hi

TV tuner cards allow you to view programming on a computer system. Although desktop computers allow you to install internal TV tuner cards, laptop systems do not have the available space for internal cards. Because of this, laptop computers have PCI express card slots. This slot allows you to install and remove (at your will) additional hardware, such as TV tuner cards.

  • TV tuner card
  • Driver installation CD
  • Software installation

  1. Locate the PCI express card slot (located on the side of your computer opposite the disc drive). Push in on the protective cover on the slot to unlock it from the case. It pops out slightly, allowing you to remove the card.
  2. Slide in the TV tuner into the PCI express card slot. The card clicks into place and a light blinks on when the card has connected successfully to the laptop computer.
  3. Insert the driver installation CD into the disc drive of the computer. Momentarily a driver installation wizard appears on the screen. Click "Next" on the welcome page, then accept the given license agreement. Choose "Next" two more times, then select "Install" and the drivers from the driver installation CD install onto the computer.
  4. Eject the driver installation CD and insert the software installation CD. This is the program you use to view the connected receiver. As with the driver installation CD, wait for the installation wizard to load up onto the screen. Accept the license agreement, leave the installation name and location blank, then click "Install" to install the software.
  5. Restart the computer. Upon restart the laptop is ready to begin using the TV tuner card.

PCI response time too long

Hi,

Found this info on another site, and it should help you out:

"you should try to manually define the IRQ for the PCI Slot where your Merging Card is in. Then, when you´re running Win2k, select "ACPI PC" and not "Uniprocessor PC" in the Manager "Computer"-section. Also set the Bios to NonPnpOS.
Those settings keep Windows from putting too much shared IRQs on your one. But be aware to select one, not used by the system. These settings gave me much more stability and speed than in auto mode." "try different slots, on every MB with more than 3 PCI Slots there is a sharing with the AGP-Slot and between to of the PCIs.
Also play around with the PCI Latency Timer in Bios" I can't take credit for it, but seemed very helpful. This was taken from THIS site (forums on Merging Technologies) If my solution does not help, I hope something on there can! --------------------------------------------- As for Tiger_Prince, You can download the Audio driver for your motherboard from from Asus's download page, in the "Please Select the Product ", first choose Motherboards, then in the next drop down choose Socket775, and in the final drop down choose P5GD2 Deluxe, then click search. When the new page loads, click on audio, then download the driver for your version of Windows. Hope I covered everybody!
