Inkjet printer require both cartridges to be installed and have ink to go online. There is no way to bypass this function. If the printer does not detect the cart when it tries to perform a head clean cycle you get the error you have displayed on the screen. All inkjet printers are like this not just HP.
there are some very rare cases that the lcds of All-in-one printers are like that. i do have some experiences with the lcds that are dead or just black... sad to say though that there are no separate battery for that. you really have to bring that to a service center for the lcd to be replaced. that the only way and your option. Actually, if its still uner warranty, you can have it replaced.
I too have this problem and I have found how to
correct it. It worked for me and hopfully it will work for you and
others. Turn off your printer. Open the scanner cover. Turn your
computer back on. That is what I did and it fixed it for me for now.
Please send me an E-Mail if it fixed it for you. I have a sneaky
suspecion that it just started working again and me opening the scanner
cover was not the fix. Thanks, Wayne
