Model bush BFFF54170W is freezing everything. I suspect it's the thermostat but i don't know where to find it. Could you please help. Thanks

If it has an evaporator fan, make sure that is working, or the defrost element has failed. Check the air vents from the freezer into the food compartment are clear. There may be ice blocking them.

ur defrost terminator is bad and is not going into defrost cycle? and this will stop the fan from circulating the cold air. the heat is only suppose to last up to 20-30 minutes then back into defrost mode? if the defrost timer is bad heres a trick u can use that may get u back into defrost mode, locate the defrost timer in ur fridge usually at top center. then under the timer u will see a tiny slot or hole. if u stick a small screw driver into that hole and turn slowly clockwise till u hear it click? i, it will now go into defrost and u should hear the fan and the compressor go off , hope this helps let me knoiw if u have any more questions, lastly I suspect its not ur timer but ur defrost terminator> meaning is will not allow it to go into heat defrost. its easy and relatively inexpensive.

A good setting is in the middle of the thermostat range. For example, if you have numbers from 1 to 9, 5 would be a good number. If this setting continues to freeze, look for a bad thermostat or temperature thermistor.

Please repost this in the appliance area dealing with this type of equipment as for some reason it is posted in the TV area.

Damper door is either broken, stuck open or stuck open and frozen with ice. Damper door is located in the top left corner of the "refrigerator side" of the fridge. Damper door may be concealed by an outer plastic covering usually held in place by a 1/4 inch screw.

Take the two wires off the thermostat and see if it still freezes. If it don't replace thermostat

Repace thermostat. You didn't tell us that it runs ALL the time. It does. You don't have to tell me, I know it does. The first thing the power does is go thru the thermostat and its job is to turn the power off to the pump when it gets cold enough. If it gets cold and freezes everything then everything else is working right. There is no fixing the old thermostat either. That little tube that looks like a heavy bare wire ending next to the freezer coil has a little "freon" in it that expandes and contrectes with temp. change and the change in pressure is what ativates the thermostat. Chances are the "freon" leaked out.
Note, this is not the same "freon" that is pumped around the fridge to cool things. This is sealed in the thermostat and tube only.
