Question about GALAXY Microsystems 25.4 cu. ft. Side-By-Side Refrigerator with Filtered Ice and Water

I don't know how to change the filter or clean it. My son gave me the refrigerator but I never received the book from him. It is a Galaxy Refrigerator. The Ice Maker is Model GSI-26 Thanks, Rose

I would remove the lower front cover, and look for your filter. it's white in color round and about 8 to 9 inches long. walmart have them

How to change the water filter on a galaxy 25.4 cu. ft. side-by-side refridgerator

Check the "grill". Best Buy's ad spec sheet stated the filter was located in the grill. I believe there's an access panel on the bottom front of the grill below the doors.

My Galaxy side by side refridgerator is leaking from the water filter system. When I removed the water filter the leak stopped. Do I need to replace the filter cartridge or is it something else?

Start with the cartridge. If the cartridge was frozen then you'll more than likely have to change the housing as well. This is only if the filter is on the inside of the machine. If its located underneath then change the filter and just check the lines that go to it by removing the kickpkate and taking a glance

I have a Bonaire (Cold Front) which is vented. My friend gave me the unit so I don't know a lot about it. Does it have a filter that I need to change or clean? Thanks, John

I have a signal saying to check the filter. I know where the vent is and the lint collector, but I do not have the book and I don't know where to find the filter.

The flashing filter light is just a reminder to check the filter before running the unit. If the filter screen is clean, then no need to be concerned about it.

Water is nasty!! Where is the filter located on the sde by side Galaxy refrigerator?

not familiar with the Galaxy refrigerator, but look inside the fridge side (not freezer) at the top. If not there, then take the grill off the bottom front of the refrigerator and look there. A lot of manufacturers started putting the filter down there.
