I have loud box artist, channel 2 make a cracklings noise even when my guitar is not plugged in .The cracklings noise takes a while to start getting noisey

With nothing plugged in and the noise still there it most likely the output stage of the amp. If the unit is under warranty - tag it, bag it, and send it back for a new one. If not under warranty, you should remove the chassis and inspect for anything loose and spray the guts with zero residue contact cleaner. Use the cleaner liberally. Usually these output noises are the result of loose or dirty components. Clean all the electronics, put it back together and see if that doesn't get rid of the noise.
Good Luck!

Crackle noise at loud volume

We will need more info to help you. Make and model of the problem gear, etc. Most noise problems are caused by dirty contacts in the jacks or intermittant solder joits in the circuit.

I have Behinger Europort EPA900, One speaker crackles, tried swopping cables etc, but nothing helps, the problem seems to be definitely with the speaker.

Open the speaker and look for loose connections. Carefully move cone with fingers. If there is noise when doing so...rubbing type noise, speaker needs reconing or replacing. If the crackling comes from teh tweeter section, then the tweeter may need replacing.

Lot of noise through the amp without any leads plugged in. I simply turn it on, adjust the EQ and it starts to crackle without stopping.

Just repaired a similar problem on a GX110. There was a ribbon cable to the effects board that the IDC connection was poor... move the cable and loud crackle. If you open the unit look for a ribbon cable about 1.5 inches wide going to a squarish shaped board. Wiggle it and if noise is there, squeeze the cover on the cable at the board end which is a fixed (doesn't come off) soldered in termination. Wiggle it and warm with a hair dryer to get wires seated.

Sound comes and goes on the drive channel, and there is a strange crackling on the clean channel. i dont know if its the tubes, the speaker, or electronics.

Using a common lead pencil, gently tap on the smaller tubes in the unit, listening for noises and crackling to change and the drive channel changes.

It is normal to get a slight twang when doing this from the microphonics of the tubes, however, the crackling and up and down volume points to a bad tube.

I have a crate PA 8 and it makes a crackling noise when I play through it. I hooked the speakers to my other amp and they sound good, I hooked the PA to my marshall cab and it still has the noise, so I...

Hi

The problem is with the amplifier itself. Crackling is usually capacitor related and you will need to have the amp checked over to properly identify the cause.

Some amps are also prone to pick up static from other electrical items which can also cause these problems. I had a crackling issue with an old Crate amp of mine which turned out it was due to being too near a computer/monitor so it is worth eliminating these things as a possible cause before having the amp checked.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.
